Re: The IBMDA400 provider is not registered on the local machine
DSN-less connection meaning I did not create a DSN data source (Start Menu -> Admin Tools -> Data Sources (ODBC)). I'm not sure what you mean by IIS as the data sources would not be controlled there. As for the steps, there are none except using the above connstr in place of your normal connstr to you sql, for example. Also, if you have trouble running queires, depending how its set up on your end, try using a forward slash instead of a dot. For example, databasename/tablename instead of

Re: The IBMDA400 provider is not registered on the local machine
Thanks for your reply. I've figured out my problem and wanted to post my resolution in hopes that it may help others save the two or so days it had taken me to find the solution. Turns out my answer was basically 5 characters! Just to sum up what I was trying to accomplish: I wanted to use a DSN-less connection string that would allow me to feed the AS400 profile name and password only, without supplying the library. The DSN-less connstr would allow me to not worry about migrating DSN settings

Setup: win 2003 x64 iSeries: 5.4 (32bit) Framework: 3.5 Error location: dev machine I have the following conn string which I use in a class toolbox: connstr = "Provider=IBMDA400;Data Source=AS400_IP;User ID=ProfileName;Password=ProfilePW;" I reference this connstr in windows forms programs, console apps and asp.net. I've been successfully using this connstr in forms and console apps. However, I just plugged it into an asp.net application and the return is the following error: "The

Re: LinkButton or ImageButton events not fired from within a HtmlTable
try adding the event handlers on page load to a static control in the same type of table to see if it does the same thing

Re: LinkButton or ImageButton events not fired from within a HtmlTable
hm... it looks to me like you're declaring the ID's of each linkbutton and the such correctly. However, it may be an issue of the not being able figure out what row you've selected it from

Re: UpdatePanel inside a Gridview can't find the control to set trigger from
Use one update panel around the Gridview, it'll make you're life much easier. Besides, you can't update one update panel from another. The controls have to be in the same update panel for them to update. So that'll be (note, I removed the conditional on the UpdatePanel too): <asp:ScriptManager ID="smTest" runat="server" /> < div > < asp:UpdatePanel > < ContentTemplate > < asp:GridView ID= "gvLivestockUnits" runat= "server"

Re: Dynamically populating CheckBoxList on Databind event
<Edited.. didn't realize my post made no sense after re-reading just now..> Anyway, how about changing the event for the CheckList from OnDataBinding to OnDataBound? Perhaps this is a timing issue if you say that nothing crashes but it's not producing the results you want.
