Re: Does anybody know how to make VS2005 remember my VisualSourceSafe Password?
The way to go is to open your user account and then choose "Manage your network passwords". There you add a new one to connect to the TFS server.
Doesn't work in VS2005. I still need to logon everytime I connect to SourceSafe server. :(

Re: How to get the APP_CODE functionality in Web Projects?
For WebSites, code placed in App_Code folder are complied at runtime which means I can upload a cs file and it will work and be plugged in the site with no problems ( I can use this for pluggable architecture where users upload plugins and use them). For WebProjects all code files *.cs are compiled into a single DLL and then used, when adding an app_code folder to a webproject the codefiles work( at runtime due to asp.net 2.0 runtime engine) But dont work at compile

Re: Dumb sqldatasource selectcommand question
SelectCommand="SELECT referrid FROM customreferrals_tbl WHERE referrname = @preferrname; SELECT customtypeid from customertype_tbl where customtype = @pcustomtype"
Your query will return 2 data tables. I would suggest you try sqldataadapter or try: Sqlcommand selectCmd=new SqlCommand("SELECT @retRefid=referrid FROM customreferrals_tbl WHERE referrname = @preferrname; SELECT @retTypeid=customtypeid from customertype_tbl where customtype = @pcustomtype",connection

Re: what needs to be done so can let any users access my sql server db from a web application?
so all web application users can access the database (create user account, change user account info, add products in shopping cart..., all the processes need to link to server database, do you set a schema called "guest" to those public users? In database, there is one data record item for every corresponding registered user who has logged on to the site and

Re: How to get the APP_CODE functionality in Web Projects?
How to get the APP_CODE functionality in Web Projects which dynamically compiles any added CS files??
Not very sure what you mean. what kind of CS files you want to compile? Are they asp.net page files(*.aspx and *.aspx.cs)? If yes, try PageParser.GetCompiledPageInstance() method. This will return a compiled asp.net page instance to the callered at run time. Hope my suggestion helps

Re: URL Rewritter -- Redirect pages with no extention to asp.net
You can map any file extension to be processed by ASP.NET. Just map that file extension through the aspnet dll. You of course need to check off the setting that ensures the file actually exists.
I don't think you have understood my problem. Of course we can map any file extension to asp.net, while what I'm taking about is to map files *which do not have a file extension * to asp.net. Like this: http://forums.asp.net/Reply/2603567/ (Note there is no file

URL Rewritter -- Redirect pages with no extention to asp.net
Hello there, Currently I'm building an asp.net web site using HttpModule rewritter and everything works fine . However, I need to provide a fake page extention which is in aspx format(e.g. test.aspx) to have IIS route requests to asp.net work process. This makes the page url look extremly ugly and I've determined to remove it. I've searched thru internet and have got 2 resolutions: 1st choice is to prepare a dummy index.aspx file within each virtual directory and the second one is to

Does anybody know how to make VS2005 remember my VisualSourceSafe Password?
Hello there, Currently I'm using VS2005 with VSS2005 to develop applications. My problem is that: every time I open a project which is associated with SourceSafe , a "Log on to Visual Source Safe Database" window will prompt out asking me to type user name and password to login. This is so annoying. I'm wondering if I can make some configurations inside VS2005 thus I can have it *remember* my source safe password. Is it possible? I've tried "tools-->Options-->Source

Re: Can I use WebPart in windows authentication mode?
Thanks for your quick response. I've tried again on my home computer. Everything seems to work fine now. I'm now confused about why it just does not work on my company's computer. You know, I spent this whold morning trying to find the reason why it does not work, without any conclusions. And after I went home, read your reply and tried again, everything works fine. It's really confusing, I'll try again on my company computer to find the underneath reason tomorrow morning. Again
