Re: Workaround for using Web Parts with AJAX 1.0 UpdatePanel
Does the WebpartManager need to be in the same UpdatePanel as the WebpartZone for this to work? I want to have one WebpartManager on the page and serveral TabPanels each containing an UpdatePanel that contains WebPartZones in various layouts. Is it posssible to render more than one update panel at a time so that I am always rendering the WebpartManager's UpdatePanel? Also this seem like a pretty easy fix - almost too good to be true - is there a reason MS dropped this funtionality from AJAX and the

Re: Webpart with Firefox
I'm the webpart class from the January CTP now. The verb menu is the only part not working - I don't know why this would be more difficult to implement across differnt browsers than drag and drop.

Would you use the Futures CTP in a real site?
I really need the cross browser compatability for webpart drag and drop but I am weary of using a CTP for a "real" system. Are we likely to loose the cross browser support in later updates? Using Web Parts would save me a lot of work, but I really need this to work outside of IE. Cheers Nick

Do any real sites use Web Parts?
My current project is real-life portal type page to integrate a number of existing products. At first glance Web Parts and .Net AJAX seem like the obvious choice for this. The update panel control not being able to accomodate webpart zones, and the lack of support drag and drop for browsers other than IE are major problems. Are there any real portal sites like "live.com" that are actually based on webparts?

Re: Webpart with Firefox
Web Part drag and drop is not working for me. I am using the newly released AJAX 1.0. Is the Firefox/Safari drag and drop support in the 1.0 release or only in the CTP. I am not comfortable using a CTP in a production system.
