Re: Ajax is very slow in Production Server
mmm, I have the opposite problem. Possibly worthy of a new thread but could be the same cause - but just machine based. I'm finding moving something between grids takes less than 2 seconds in production and my production server is 2500km away, whereas working on my localhost takes about 8 seconds and its all on my laptop, which isn't quite as fast as the production server, but its not normally this slow. Both are win2k3 and same data and database. I've tried setting scriptsmanager to

Re: In the click event of the LinkButton, if you call FormView1.UpdateItem(true|false) then ObjectDataSource1_UpdateObject should fire.
Hello I experienced a similar issue. An image button got as far as the item command but never got to the ObjectDataSource updating event. However a link button siting right beside the image button with a command of "Update" just like the image button, did infact proceed to the ODS updating. Seems a little strange that the button type would have an impact such as this. So I tested this out in a clean project. Same thing. Form view doesn't seem to support image buttons that fire commands

Re: Subject: BUG? Empty Business Object when Configure ObjectDataSource
Re above comment I think the original question is relating to methods that DO compile and have been compiled. I have this same problem. I've come across it and got around it by deleting and recreating the dataset. Everything compiles fine but the methods still won't display. Regarding above, you ALWAYS have to compile to get the changes to show up in the "choose business object" dialog.

Re: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation
This error message is about as useful as a chocolate fireguard. Disabling the update panel is fine for development, and the few bugs that I stumble across while developing. But what about in a production situation. If I get my clients phoning up telling me the app won't work becuase an "Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation", then I'll just explain to them how to disable AJAX so I can get a useful error message. AHH. No. I don't think so. Is there some way that you can actually
