Re: Querying SQL Views
Hi thanks for your reply, Are you sure? I thought a view would keep a record of the correct rows without having to do the where clause on the actual table and just do an inner join on the rows it has. So then what's the point in using a view if it's going to perform the where clause on the actual table any way? You may as well directly select from the original table?

Querying SQL Views
If you create a view such as CREATE VIEW TestView AS Select * FROM customers_table WHERE CustomerID between 213 AND 3443 Each time you want to select from the view - is the View going to perform the WHERE clause on the customers_table , or not? Or does the view already have the virtual rows?, meaning it does not have to perform a where clause (WHERE CustomerID between 213 AND 3443) on the customers_table, and just performs an inner join with the rows it already has?

Re: Changing default aspnetdb name
Oops! I meant to say: If you need to make changes to your Godaddy database, you can 'script' your edited database that you have on your own computer using the Database Publishing Wizard again. Then execute the script on Godaddy Thanks

Re: Changing default aspnetdb name
That's good to hear you got it working! If you need to make changes to your Godaddy database, you can do it on your own computer using the Database Publishing Wizard - that you downloaded. Then on goddady you don't nessasaraly have to 'Upload' the script. You can in fact just copy and paste the script into the query analyzer then click 'Execute' If you need to import or export data you can upload or download it as a csv file using the Godaddy admin options. Hope this helps

Re: Changing default aspnetdb name
Putting a database on Godaddy is quite easy, You cannot just upload your database to the app_data folder. First you need to script your database into a file. Instructions on how to download the 'DataBase Publishing Wizard' and how to script your database here: http://weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/archive/2006/12/22/recipe-deploying-a-sql-database-to-a-remote-hosting-environment-part-1.aspx In Godaddy you need to find the option to create a new database. Once that's been done you have to got

Re: indexing - is it powerful?
Thanks for the info, So If I had the above scenario with 1,000,000,000 records in the table And 1% of test_columns value was 1 And 99% of test_columns value was was 2 Is SQL designed powerful enough to easily get that 1% where value = 1 of the 1,000,000,000 records Cheers
