Re: Wadsworth PSK and Gmail...
Well I think I was just browsing Godaddy's support pages and I ran across that server because it seems that Google's SMTP server that I was trying to use before wasn't working. One thing though that I ran across is that when you are on the Manage Users page and you click on a User's email address to send them an email the email will not send in FireFox. I will do a little more testing but it seems like manually emailing within FireFox is not working - This can also be because I am

Re: Where to download FULL version personal web site
Well I would suggest you download Jeremy Wadsworth Personal Website from his website, www.jeremywadsworth.com - you have to register on his site to be able to download the files. His adjusted kit includes plenty of updates over the original such as User Management tools and I have also shown how to add Lytebox/Lightbox support onto his kit at my website, www.sdotcire.com, and you can download his SQL code so you can simply recreate the SQL tables on a hosting website and their SQL databases. Many

Re: Login to Personal Website Kit
Well are you using a hosting company or just hosting it through your local server? Chances are that you are not using the valid connection string because the one that comes within the Web.config is for a local server. Also most hosting companies do not let you use pre-made databases - Godaddy for instance - so you would have to convert your database to SQL scripts and upload it to the hosting company's database and then you would have to the proper connection strings. Your error message with

LyteBox Support for Jeremy Wadsworth's Personal Website Kit
I don't want to seem like I'm trying to promote my site too much on this forum but since I know so many people want to have Lytebox/Lightbox on their site, I just figured I would let people know that I have a tutorial on how to do this on my site at .. http://sdotcire.com/tutorials/lytebox.aspx. I have more tutorials coming up such as uploading the Personal Website onto a Godaddy server because I went through basically hell getting the site up and working and I don't want anyone going

Re: Getting the Personal Starter Site to function.
Ok, so did you create SQL scripts to insert into the database or does your hoster allow you to use your own database? Because maybe you don't have the proper connection string for your database and so that would explain why your login doesn't work. Also I attempted to create a user but an error occurred which maybe because you are not properly connecting to a database or because your database is set up incorrectly. If you go into your web.config and changed your < compilation debug >

Re: Getting the Personal Starter Site to function.
Are you sure your linking to the right file? That error message means that your trying to connect to a site that isn't there. Maybe your making a typo or something. Try using Visual Web Developer Express to create the personal website by going to File > New Site > Personal Website and clicking open. Then you can test it by assembling it in a browser - default is IE. This should work or at least point to an actual file and if it doesn't post that error message. Also you said you tried

Re: Personal Web Site Starter Kit
Hey, I don't know but when I just went to download the starter kit from Microsoft the page asks if you agree or disagree and the agree link is not letting me download the package but rather a .vsi file. This could be a bug or something but I tested it in both Firefox and IE and I can't download it. You should try getting Jeremy Wadsworth's personal website package. It comes with everything you need and is more advanced then the one offered by Microsoft right now. Also I have some bug

Re: Getting the Personal Starter Site to function.
Well it wont work on the 1.1 Framework but it should work perfectly on 2.0 and 3.0. Well first post the exact and entire error message you are receiving. And what do you mean when you say that you "checked the security of the site and pages its not there". Whats not there? With a full error message we should be able to help you better. Which IIS are you running locally? *Edit - Also try going to http://www.jeremywadsworth.com/ and downloading his adaption of the personal website kit because

Re: Getting the Personal Starter Site to function.
Well first of all can you get your website to run on your local machine? Or is your problem putting it on the web? Well if you are having problems running locally then make sure you are using a generic Web.config that comes up when you start a new personal starter kit. ~Eric

Re: Deployment to Godaddy issues..
Hey, Yeah I'm going create a step by step guide because it seems so many people are having issues with Godaddy deployment. I don't know if you got the site up and running yet but let me know if you need some help before I complete the guide because it will take me a couple of days with work and everything. ~Eric
