Re: User Management Business Logic with Membersip and Role Providers
Hi Thanks for your input Nai-Dong Jin. I explored this some after posting my first item, and came unstuck when attempting to add business rules around the profile properties; since the profile attributes for the profile providers are set at the presentation layer. This forced me to put my UserManagement component in the presentation layer; but now I think this can be done in my custom membership or role provider using custom code rather than relying on the profile providers at all. Thanks again for

User Management Business Logic with Membersip and Role Providers
Hi Guys Has anyone successfully created a user management business logic class whilst using the membership and role providers. And did you have to extend the existing providers to do this? Cheers XOR

ActiveDirectoryMembershipProvider account lock out
Hi guys I have a web app that uses the ActiveDirectoryMembershipProvider and although this ms page (http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms998360.aspx under 'Account Lockout') states that if a user enters an incorrect password 'x' times in 'x' minutes their account will be locked in terms of this application, but it will not be locked in active directory. Unfortunately, when my users enter incorrect passwords 'x' times in 'x' minutes it is their active

Re: validation problem
you need to set the validationgroup value on your search button. put in the name of a validationgroup that doesnt exist (I assume that you dont have any validationgroups on the page, just you could prolly put anything here) if this doesnt work, do the opposite and set the validationgroup for the validationcontrols and also for the button which should be validating these.

Re: how to append byte data to an existing file using FileStream class?
Im not sure exactly, but I recommend you test it with a text file, so you can tell exactly where it is failing.

Re: how to append byte data to an existing file using FileStream class?
Unless you are using a custom handler to process this uploading, I double any of ur code is executing if the user stops the upload/postback. Because your event handler isnt called until the response has come back completely from the user.

Re: getting client ipaddress thise who are using my site
Page.Request.ServerVariables["REMOTE_ADDR"] should do it.

Re: Open pop up, close pop up and reload parent (ignoring the postback)
Page.ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript( this .GetType(), "QuickAddPopUpClose" , "setTimeout('window.opener.parent.location= window.opener.parent.location + '?t=1' ;window.close()', 5000);" , true ); note that i just add some useless junk on the end to tell the browser that the location has actually changed, so reload the page.... you may want to ensure that the quotes are all in the right places though....

Re: How the server side can catch the table row changed by javascript
without adding some information to the checkboxes that they will postback, i dont think you can. perhaps you need to have a hidden input type that stores all the changes and posts this info back to the server?
