Curly Quotes cause symbols to be inserted into our reports.
We are having an issue with question marks appearing in our reports. I was baffled at first, but through Google learned about "curly quotes" Apparently, these "curly quotes" are a different character than normal quotes. There are also "curly apostrophes" They appear to be related to Microsoft Word but I'm sure there are other ways to get these into a textbox on a webpage. Here is a zoomed in picture to see the difference. Here is a picture showing the different characters

Re: Curly Quotes cause symbols to be inserted into our reports.
Thanks for the reply. This still leaves me with a few unanswered questions: 1. In lots of reports, we feed textbox values directly into report parameters. If those texboxes contain the curly quotes, then the report is messed up. This is without any database involvement whatsoever. 2. After converting all of the existing data, how can I prevent the curlies from getting in again? If there are curlies in a textbox and I save that to an nvarchar column, are you saying that they will automatically be

Table in sub report causing weird border
I've got a subreport in the rightmost column here... you'll notice on row "04" there appears to be a thick border: But then at 3200% zoom in Adobe Reader, you see this on row 4: So you can see that the sub report has a table that is a different height than the row. Then you look at row "08" and its easy to see what's going on, the table in the sub report just stops and leaves a gap for the rest of row 08. Is there a way to fix this problem? Can we somehow make the

Re: The specified network name is no longer available
I have a brand new server running IIS7/Server 2008 and an ASP.NET 2.0 app on it. I am seeing this exception in the error log too. The server isn't in production yet but now I'm worried since other people are seeing this... Log Name: Application Source: ASP.NET 2.0.50727.0 Date: 6/8/2008 6:14:13 PM Event ID: 1309 Task Category: Web Event Level: Warning Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: sv2587 Description: Event code: 3005 Event message: An unhandled exception has occurred. Re: how to populate cascading dropdownlist in javascript
No worries, this stuff is confusing in the forums (trying to help without an example to play with) I would run the function on either the cancel button or you could show the modal with client script code instead of the one defined with the modalpopupextender and call the additional javascript to reset the dropdown. For whatever reason I remember when I did this that setting the selectedIndex to 0 just wasn't enough... I had to do all of that fanciness with the event attaching, etc. I can't

Re: how to populate cascading dropdownlist in javascript
You can ignore the "set_contextKey" stuff... that is just extra information that goes into the callback function for populating the dropdowns. The real thing that makes it work is attaching to that "add_populated" event in the pageLoad(). Then when you call "onParentChange" it will reset the dropdown and the "onParentPopulatedCustomFunction()" will automatically run. The "unrelated changes" method was a "spur" to force the refresh, you can
