Re: Method not found: 'Void Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.ReportViewer.Reset()'
qball you rock 1. I installed the Report Viewer 2005 Redistributable Package + SP1 on the development PC (and the 'ReportViewer.Reset()' method continued to be available as before, so I was sceptical!) 2. Removed and re-added the references to Microsoft.ReportViewer .dll's in web.config 3. Re-built application, and .. it worked! Thank you so much! - Sarah

Method not found: 'Void Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.ReportViewer.Reset()'
Hello, I'm at my wit's end with this one, so any assistance or guidance you might be able to offer would be much appreciated, please My ASP 2.0 Web application has a ReportViewer control which displays client reports. The control worked fine (both in development and production), until I decided to start dynamically changing the RDLC at runtime (based on user input) using the ReportViewer.Reset() method. This method works fine on my development computer, but on our webserver it fails with

Dynamically adding controls using XML/XSLT - Only labels are displayed
Hello, I have a search page which will (hopefully, eventually) display different combinations of simple search boxes, depending on the search 'entity' selected from a dropdown list. eg: If the user selects 'Patient', the search boxes displayed will be 'Last Name', 'First Name', "Date of Birth'. If the user selects 'Branch Office', the search boxes will be 'Company Name', 'Branch Name', 'State' These settings are all stored in EntitySearch.XML , which is transformed by EntitySearch.XSL . My page

Re: SQL Server: Login failed for user: '<DOMAIN>\<WEBSERVER>$'
Hi Dave, Thank you so much for taking the time to explain the pros and cons of each system. From what you've said, the 'trusted subsystem' option is perfect for my situation (particularly since the database access is in this application consists entirely of select statements - no 'dangerous' action queries). It's also a pleasant surprise to hear that the Windows Groups can be used - that's terrific. Thanks again Sarah

Re: Web Deployment Project - "has not been pre-compiled"
Hello, I also had this problem, and found the cause. I thought I'd share my solution in case anyone else was in a similar situation as me. I had a happy, functional, live ASP.NET site. I created an .aspx page which used a 'ReportViewer' control. Once this page was added to the live project, I got the horribly unhelpful "..has not been pre-compiled, and cannot be requested" error on all pages (other than the default page). The cause was: the reference to Microsoft.ReportViewer.WebForms.dll The reference

Re: SQL Server: Login failed for user: '<DOMAIN>\<WEBSERVER>$'
Hi Iori, Thanks for taking a look at my problem I don't want to use a universal credential. I want each user to be authenticated as themselves (ie: the logged-on user), so that I can restrict access to sensitive pages. eg: Restrict access to some pages to managers only. - Sarah

Re: SQL Server: Login failed for user: '<DOMAIN>\<WEBSERVER>$'
Hi Dave, Many thanks for your quick reply I've been working through your linked solution. Because I don't understand the ramifications fully, I'm not comfortable implementing delegation on the webserver, but all other elements have been implemented. It didn't solve my problem, so I imagine that not implementing delegation on the webserver is preventing me from succeeding. Given my reluctance, I suppose I'll simply have to allow anonymous access, and provide a domain account for the app to run as

SQL Server: Login failed for user: '<DOMAIN>\<WEBSERVER>$'
Hello, I hate to be the 12345th person to request assistance on this topic, but despite looking at previous requests, I can't seem to find the solution. Any assistance you could offer would be much appreciated. Background I have a new ASP.NET 2.0 web application which is hosted on (for argument's sake) WEBSERVER (using IIS 6.0), and which accesses data on SQLSERVER (using SQL Server 2000). Because this is an intranet application, I want the application's authentication mode to be Windows, and the
