Re: Overriden CreateWebPart method in custom WebPartManager causes page events to fire out of sequence
Just as a follow up, i've tried adding EnsureChildControls in OnInit, OnLoad, and even tried calling it from the parent page's OnInit event via a wrapper method, and still having the same problem. I can't really understand why overriding the CreateWebPart method would cause the controls to get loaded correctly I

Re: Overriden CreateWebPart method in custom WebPartManager causes page events to fire out of sequence
Cheers for the reply, as i mentioned i did try sticking EnsureChildControls inside the CreateWebPart method, didn't seem to have any effect though. I'll try putting it at various other places see if it has any more success, unless anyone else can think of anything Ta

Overriden CreateWebPart method in custom WebPartManager causes page events to fire out of sequence
Hi, hope someone can shed some light on this for me, i've lost almost a whole day to it now! I'm working on a framework using WebParts. There are a number of WebPartZones on the page, each containing a few UserControls, which get wrapped into WebParts automatically when the page is loaded. Within these UserControls are a number of dynamically added controls, upon which the framework relies. During the OnInit phase of these UserControls, the OnLoadComplete event of the parent page is hooked

Re: Pretty Unimpressed
Unfortunately, the company i work for, quite understandably, isn't keen to use a beta product in a production environment, so converting all the existing projects over isn't an option. I was kind of hoping to give it a side by side evaluation, but i guess i'll have to wait until the final release comes out. At least i can still prat about with it at home

Pretty Unimpressed
After three attempts and much hair pulling, i finally managed to download a non-corrupt version of VS2008 Beta. I installed it, and then ran the Ajax Policy batch file linked to from Scott Guthrie's blog as recommended. The first thing i tried to do was open an existing .Net 2.0 Ajax website in my browser to check if it still worked. I was immediately presented with the extremely helpful exception "Unable to cast type System.Web.Configuration.ScriptingScriptResourceHandlerSection to System

Re: Handle multiple postbacks with a queue
No it's all good mate, i'm doing pretty much exactly the same thing as you in my approach, i was just wondering if anyone had managed to queue up the actual web requests and then execute them manually later on with an Executor. Cheers though

Re: Tab Container within an Update Panel
Ok, this is a much simplified reproduction of my page, but it causes the "bug". I need to add a TabContainer dynamically as the result of a button press, and in the following conditions, it appears with no styles on it. < html xmlns= "http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" > < head runat= "server" > < title >Untitled Page</ title > </ head > < body > < form id= "form1" runat= "server" > < div > < asp:ScriptManager

Re: Tab Container within an Update Panel
I would do, but the situation in which this problem has arisen for me is a little bit complicated, since i'm building a custom webpart based draggy droppy affair. The TabContainer is in an UpdatePanel, which is in another UpdatePanel, and i'm creating it programatically. I'll have a quick play, and see if i can get it to happen in a simpler scenario.

Re: Handle multiple postbacks with a queue
Hi Pabloah If i understand you correctly, what you are doing is queuing up the actual id's of various controls that you wish to postback from, and then causing a postback directly on that control in order to get it to update, using Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance()._doPostBack( controlID, "" ); I'm sure this approach works well, but it's pretty much the same as what i am doing as far as i can see - it's still not really queueing the actual requests. Queued requests

Re: Tab Container within an Update Panel
I'm having the same issue with the TabContainer styles not being sent to the browser, did anyone find a solution for this?
