Not picking the Logged On User in Staging
I have developed a web app with VS 2008/IIS 5.1. Am retrieving the currently logged on user to the machine using the "Principal.WindowsIdentity.GetCurrent.Name" attribute. I have no problems fetching the user in the debug mode in my local server. I have deployed in a different server with the similar configuration. Am unable to get the logged on user. More info: In the IIS, a) Integrated Windows authentication is checked b) Anonymos access is unchecked. Can anyone throw a light on this

Re: Implementing Web Services b/w Presentation and Business layers
Thanks John. While i was browsing for the solution, came to know that passing dataset/datatable is not feasible as they are .Net related. Do you suggest to use strongly typed collection classes instead? If you have more info/links on this subject, pls pass on to me. Thanks

Re: Implementing Web Services b/w Presentation and Business layers
Hi Joel, I have done the following: - created a web service class 'service1' - Added a Business DLL to the reference in the Web Services project - created a webmethod 'FetchRequestDetails()' in the service1 class <WebMethod()> _ Public Sub FetchRequestDetails(ByVal intUser as integer,ByVal dtbRequestDetails as DataTable) _objRequest = RequestBL.clsRequest(intUser, dtbRequestDetails) End Sub In the WebMethod, am calling the business dll's 'clsrequest' component. -

I have a 3 tier application. I would like to implement web services on top of the business layer. I have the following code in the layers ********************************************************************************************* Presentation: Dim dtbRequestDetails as new DataTable intUser="20" Dim blReturn = _objRequest.FetchRequestDetails(intUser,dtbRequestDetails) ********************************************************************************************* Business: Public Function

Re: Right Click Menu "View Code" item
"View Code" appears in all the windows (Design, Split and Source). I have followed Jerry Langley III 's scenario and checked..i could see the View Code immediately.
