  Thank's for your notice about cliententEcryption i didnt test it but I think all protections will be better to imlement on server side. In case of encryption client URL will not be very friendly. And in case one client want to sent URL to another user, second user can afraid to open such URL with encrypted data. :( And i think that search engine will ignore such URL's if user will past it on some forums, bbs etc.

  No. Unfortunatley Web test plugin can record only pure GET or POST request and can't determine that there is XmlHttpRequest...

  Sorry i was wrong about desktop privileges. You can gain access to the Office components only throught manually created account, that has access to the office binary files. For example your own account. To create this, replace ASPNET user in Machine.config or Web.config to your own account. If you using Windows 3003 or ealier you need to replace not a user but a user role: "IIS_WPG".

  Do you have enough permissions to create virtual folder thought IUSER account or you are using you own account? As I understand you need Administrators privileges to manipulate IIS settings.
