Re: Why not support post-backs?
As ShaneBauer pointed out ASP.Net MVC is not a replacement for WebForms its only an alternative.... just another option in ASP.Net Development.... Options are a good thing!!! And most importantly its a MSFT supported framework. For those of us who have ever been employed by companies where that is a requirement.... having a Supported proper MVC framework is a good thing

Re: Asp.NET Mvc . Is it possible with VS 2005?
If all you have is VS2005 and 08 is not an option (which will end up being the case for me as well.... YAY!!! for working in Non-profit and having $0.00 for useful tools) then you can Give MonoRail a try as well.... Its very much like ASP.Net MVC (or should I say ASP.Net MVC is very much like MonoRail)

Re: New to MVC, need halp!
Just as an added point of info. This is more a question about Linq2SQL and not about MVC. Mike's answer should solve your problem. Edit:// you may want to take a look at ADO.Net Entities . As well as read this . LinqToEntities may be more of what you are looking for.

Re: what about using cassini for unit testing?
I would add to that being able to simply mock everything for unit-testing does make for a much cleaner continuous integration story. No need for the build server to have VS installed etc. Plus now with the MVC dlls being Bin-deployable this gets even cleaner and nicer.

Re: Where is the [Rescue]
I agree with Joe on this one it is really encouraging to hear that having these things baked-in might be a reality. +1 for useful built-in Attributes @Joe.... I had this idea yesterday and luckily I came across your blog entry, Thanks.
