Join me as i learn SilverLight and Ajax.ASP.NET (im building an iTunes like app)
Hi, I hope i don't offend anyone by posting this here but i thought there might be people interested in watching me learn silverlight and ajax.asp.net I thought that id learn these technologies by building a full web application incorporating these technolgies. And id blog every step of the way. I've chosen to build an iTunes like application, pretty ambitious i know. Anyway if your interested in following me on this journey check it out here http://advertboy.wordpress.com/project-silverlight

Re: How to resolve "Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerParserErrorException" issue
Thanks for your reply but what that line you commented out does is checks if the user is logged in, if not then default the username to 'Anonymous' ( Membership.GetUser() returns null if there is no authenticated user) <== i got this from a microsoft paper on MSDN. If the user remains anonymous (and doesnt log into my website) then there is never any errors. However as soon as they log in then all cases of the updatepanel where it leveages membership functions fails with the above error? And the

Re: How to resolve "Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerParserErrorException" issue
Im just writting to let you know that im also getting the issue. Update panels after loging-in keep throwing up the above mentioned error. The postback code in the button which causes the partial page rendering is shown below... ps.. Was working fine prior to RTM! Code in ============================ 1 protected void butSaveComment_click( object sender, EventArgs e) 2 { 3 string uid = Request.QueryString[ "aa1" ]; 4 string username = "" ; 5 6 if (taComment.Text.Trim().Length == 0) return ; 7 8 username

Re: Timer Inside My Update Panel Is Causing A Full Page Post Pack
Im also confused , I have a similar architecture where the scriptmanager is defined in the master page and a user control has the update panels and timer.. Now the timer triggers the update panel (on the user control) and it correctly causes partial page rendering.. From what your saying above guys it should be causing full page refreshes.. Are you using the latest 1.0 RTM version? or am i missing something... [if you want to see my partial timer rendered example its here http://www.RipThatClip.com

Re: URL thumbnail generation service FREE - all built in .NET
Hey Paggy, The zip file on my site should contain enough to let you recreate a form like the one you want. All you gotta do is download the example code and just cut and paste the fields to meet your needs... ps. i like the example you showed me but i like the digg forms more.. Let me know if your having problems creating the form.. Regards Liquidboy

Re: URL thumbnail generation service FREE - all built in .NET
Thanks Paggy4U for the support.. I hope your not confused about what "digg like forms" are. They arnt an application there just a set of styles that give your forms a digg like feel. I have a widget called "comments ripper" which is a comment form allowing people to place comments on your page. It has the "digg like forms" applied to it. I've packaged up a sample "digg like forms" on the site now, you'll need to go to the article to tell you where to

Re: URL thumbnail generation service FREE - all built in .NET
hey guys Thanks for your comments.. I really love ASPX and .net2.0. Paggy4u... ill put a zip file in the "open sources - digg like forms" that you can download that has all the code for one of my pages.. Hopefully from that you should be able to build your own digg like forms.. It will be up there by the end of this week (8th September) hopefully thats not too late... Regards LiquidBoy
