  We are experience the exactly same problem. This seems really serious. After hacking here and there for a while, we suddenly got it to work by placing a UpdatePanel to an empty form, build and run the page to see an error that "there is no ScriptManager on the page", and then we back to the design mode and drag over a ScriptManager, run again, this time nothing wrong. Again back to the designer, we found that on target controls the extended properties can be expanded just like in the ACT's sample

• Error: Cannot expand extended properties in VS2005

  Hello there. After installed Atlas and Atlas Control Toolkit (for Atlas July 2006 CTP), I was able to run the ACT's sample web without any problem. Once I began to create my HelloWorld application following the quick walkthrough, I cannot expand the extended properties for any control with proper extender added to the page. The extended property is listed in the target control's properties window, but whenever I click on the plus sign to the left of the extended property's name, the plus sign is
