Re: Relating file types in the solution explorer
Bah, I was hoping it would be just a simple regkey change. I don't have the time to start into the vsip sdks at the moment, so I'll just carry on as I am. Cheers anyway.

Relating file types in the solution explorer
Hi According to http://extraview.co.uk/blog/CommentView,guid,689818e8-817e-49d1-a33f-47decffa1700.aspx it should be possible to create relationships for the VS2005 solution explorer so that certain types of files can be nested a la .aspx, .aspx.cs and .aspx.designer. I'm trying to set this up on a web application project so that I can nest a file of type .aspx.js under it's parent .aspx. So far, I'm not having any luck. I've added the following tree under registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

Re: Dynamically adding a usercontrol containing a rating control
Hmm. Firefox only. IE redraws the ratings correctly.

Dynamically adding a usercontrol containing a rating control
Hi I have a page which contains an update panel, which itself contains a few textboxes and buttons. There is also a placeholder control inside the updatepanel, into which I LoadControl two instances of a custom usercontrol. The usercontrol contains a few more fields and a atlas rating control. If I use one of the buttons to force a postback to the updatepanel via a controleventtrigger, the second of the two controls is not drawn. I have narrowed the problem down to definitely being related to the

Target <something> for the callback could not be found
Hi I've just come across something which may trip somebody else up at a later date, so I'll post it here for posterity. Using the latest ACT source from Codeplex, I got the following error popping up in Firefox when I clicked on a rating control which existed within a dynamically-added usercontrol: The target 'ctl00$ContentPlaceHolder1$discography$item$654$rating' for the callback could not be found or did not implement ICallbackEventHandler. I eventually found the problem was due to the ID of the

Re: How do make space for the popup from the PopupControlExtender
I guess something along the lines of ensuring that the div that contains your calendar have it style set to "position : static" rather than "position : absolute". Insert the markup for the popup panel immediately before the elements you want to "push out of the way". Then when the control is made visible by the popupextender, it should push any subsequent statically-positioned elements out of the way.

PopupControlExtender generating an incorrect target control id
I'm using a popupcontrolextender to display a calendar control in the same way as in the sample website, with the exception that the text box into which the date gets inserted is also in an updatepanel. The currently chosen date gets persisted correctly between roundtrips, as the "currently selected day" is always highlighted correctly on the calendar. However, when I click on a day in the calendar I don't get a value inserted into my textbox. Investigation into the generated js shows that the target

Re: Nested UpdatePanel causes parent to post back?
Ok, I just got this to work but I'm not entirely sure of the reasons underpinning my problem. I've moved the PopupControlExtender inside the outer updatepanel, but moved the panel it pops up outside of that updatepanel. Next, I've added a standard asp:Button into the inner updatepanel and set it's UseSubmitBehaviour=false. With breakpoints on both button's Click handlers, I tried clicking both buttons. The image button never hit it's breakpoint, instead reloading panel and hiding the popup. The standard

Re: Nested UpdatePanel causes parent to post back?
Incidentally, I have tried it with the following section both inside the updatepanel and outside of it. < asp:Panel ID= "contactSearchPanel" runat= "server" CssClass= "popupPanel" > < cc:ContactSearch ID= "contactSearch" runat= "server" /> </ asp:Panel >
