  Hello, Many thanks for your replies. I have implemented a httphandler which contains the logic to capture a clients ip address and store it in a database table. However im experiencing trouble after the request has been processed, the RSS feed itself does not get rendered out to the screen - it just comes back empty. In my web.config httphandler tag i have set the following: <httpHandlers> <add verb="*" path="feed.aspx" type="Elexon.Web.UI.Public.CorporateAdmin.rss

• Server.Transfer issue

  Hello, I have masked a collection of Urls on a webpage iv constructed using the Isapi lite filter mechanism. Each of these masked url links is an actual link to a ppt file in a file directory located on the server. When the user clicks on any of the masked url links they should get prompted to download the file as per normal. As part of this i have used Server.transfer to ensure that the proper url path is never exposed to the user because when iv tried using response.redirect it exposes the correct

  lol, for once iv managed to answer my own question! My problem was overcome by using the following two lines of code: Response.ContentType = _mimeType ; Response.WriteFile(_ fileLocation); Hope this will help anyone else out who may have been suffering the same problem :)

• Counting RSS Subscribers

  Hello, I have developed a small internal web application that company staff can use to submit news, etc. Part of its benefit is serving various RSS feeds for these news items to all staff. I have been recently asked to provide a way of counting the number of subscribers for all the available feeds that exist in the application. Can anyone guide me on the best technique for this - an external third party service like feedburner is of no use to me as the feed url will be internal. Thanks

  Hello, I was recently asked to create a report listing all aspx files in an VS 2005 web aplication project. I was able to count the number of static pages in the project easily using Visual Studios regular expression search box where i filtered on finding all file names with an *aspx extension.
