Re: Replace text in HTML Elem using JQuery
Thanks for the reply deepthoughts. But my problem is the whole tag is created automatically by jsTree component which does not create an id for the anchor tag. The first line gives me the whole anchor tag. The second line gives me the displayed text which is what I want to change. On the third line, I modify the text. On the fourth line, I replace the innerText with the modified text. But when I check the variable a4 it still is equal to a1. I tried to use the jQuery's text() method with the

jQuery jsTree plugin does not display tree
Hi everybody, I am new to Javascript and jQuery. Trying to learn. So, forgive me if this appears to be a silly mistake. I have a jsTree component on one of my aspx page. The tree gets its data via an ajax call to a WebService Method. I can see in the debugger that my WebService method does get called and it returns the data as expected. But the tree doesn't display at all. What am I doing wrong? I have pasted the relevant parts of the files here. The server side is in C# code. Parts from my aspx

Re: jQuery and AJAX problem. Please help!!
Thanks everyone. The problem was with the ajax option 'failure'. Though the documentation says the name of the option is 'failure', it works only when I used 'error' instead of failure. This was suggested by another poster on this same thread and it works. Babu.

Re: jQuery and AJAX problem. Please help!!
Thank you so much for pointing it out to me. That was it. The ajax call now works. I have been going nuts over this for the past few days. Thanks again. Babu.

How to make script to wait till the jQuery.ajax call finishes executing?
Hi all, I have the following script on my aspx page. I find a weird behaviour in the flow of execution. I have placed "Alert" messages in the functions to let me know the flow of the program. Here are the messages I get in that order. 1. "Begin Taxonomies" 2. "After Ajax; Still in GetTaxonomies" 3. "Now in PopulateTree; " 4. "Ajax Success" - Note that this message should have been the second. My ajax call succeeds and returns my json object as expected

Re: How to make script to wait till the jQuery.ajax call finishes executing?
Hi Argg, Thanks for the reply. I found out that I could just make the 'async: false' in the $.ajax call which makes it synchronous. Thanks for trying. I am marking your comment as the answer anyway. Babu.

InvalidCastException on FormView with a datetime column
Hi everybody, It seems that when you have a datetime column in your formview, the Update does not work. Insert, delete etc seem to be fine. For test, I created a simple form with one single formview control on it with a SQLDataSource. My table is also a simple test table. And there is no hand-written code at all. Here is the problem. The FormView Control seems to work fine. It displays all the data, I can also, insert or delete data. But when I go into edit mode and do some editing, the Update fails
