Re: anyone managed to have a full length horizontal menu looking good within the master page?
http://www.pivotalhr.com.au I've added a horizontal menu in the above site, which works fine. It's CSS, so you can style it as you like - is that what you're looking for??

Re: Add video album to the Personal starter kit - share my experience
Hi Kevin, Here is a line that will play a video stored in your file system. You determine the height, width and path: < embed src ="Path and name of the movie" width ="width in pixels" height ="height in pixels"></ embed> If you wrap this line in a datalist or formview you should be able to connect it to a datasource like the photo album in the PWS Hope this helps

Re: hyperlinked field
Are you sure you're put the'http://' prefix on this hyperlink? I've made the msitake of only putting 'www.avandale.org' as a link with no prefix. when this happens, it appends the project location in front of the hyperlink addess, similar to whats happening above.

Re: Missing thumbnail images
This is a strange one. Have you tried a fresh kit, with new database? Sometimes its easier to just start again and import your work than to trawl through to find the solution. You might also take a look a this link which stores the photos in the filesystem rather than within SQL itself : http://www.geekswithblogs.net/jhacheysblog/articles/62519.aspx Also, are oyu using SQL Server of SQLExpress?

Re: Random Photo & Album is missin
Hi Aaron, The reason the website loads slow is that the Random photo stored procedures and associated code are not optimised. The SPROC pulls all information not just that related to the actual random photo. Also, the images are stored as fields in SQL Server which means more traffic to the database. There are quite a few good threads on this if you search around. If you're feeling adventourous, this is a good place to start: http://www.geekswithblogs.net/jhacheysblog/articles/62519.aspx It teaches

Re: is this kit good for starting an online account managment app ?
Hi Lamentations, The PWS is as good a place to start as any. If you know how to use grid views, formviews and data lists then you should be able to cover all of the above. for the user to gain access to the site to view their account information you could use a datagrid that would display their information possibly based on their user name You should probably write up the downlaodable forms in Word and then have the site upload the file to the users pc. To submit personal data you could use a formview

Re: EXECUTE permission denied on object 'aspnet_CheckSchemaVersion', database '695746_default', schema 'dbo'
If you put the resume.aspx in the admin folder or in a seperate folder you can then control who has access through their role in the configuration tool On the seocnd part, do you mean access to the site or to an individual page?

Re: How to point my starter kit to the right SQL Express database?
Hi wstandis, Your post is a little unclear, are you saying that the user can login on your local machine but not from outside of the network? Also, has their account been approved by you as Administrator? JM

Re: Retaining original size of images when selecting a thumbnail
Hi vesuvian, Go to Photomanager and do a search for this line: picBuff = ResizeImageFile(picBuff, 600); change the 600 to the numbe rof pixels you want the picture to be. Bear in mind that all selected pictures will be this size. If you want it for just these, you will need to create a new picture size.

Re: Photo Resolution - best option for albulms
You could use Photoshop to compress the image, or right click on an image in Windows Viewer and select the email option, this will then offer to compress the im age to about 10% of it's original size. You could then have the smaller image linked to the largers image (effectively add the image to the site twice), so that when clicked on, it would display the larger. One thing to look at though, there is a module in the PWS that automatically resize every image imported, but I think that's only when
