Sharing Master Pages Across IIS Applications
I am trying to create a global master page that will be used as the template for all of my intranet applications. I have one running right now in 1.1 that I was hoping to improve with the 2.0 master pages. I read Dan Wahlin's blog regarding creating a master page and adding to the GAC. That seems to work great, except when I create my dummy master file in my application I inherit from the master page in the GAC, now I seem to have lost my design capability in my child page. Hi Jonathan, I just went through the same steps and I am not able to get any further than you have with the string resources error. I was wondering if you came up with another solution to share master pages over multiple IIS applications. Thanks, tzuff
