Vijay, I would appreciate if you used your own Profile picture ( both on these Forums and on Facebook ) rather than using a picture of me. Thank you very much.

  • Re: LinkClick.aspx error after upgrading to DNN 3.3.0

One of the major enhancements in the latest version is that we have abstracted the application from the file system for document storage. This provides the flexibility for managing files in different ways which were not possible in the past ( ie. secure file storage, database storage ). It also provides much better security as it allows us to consistently enforce our security model related to folders and files. As part of this enhancement, we are now consistently using the database as the reference

  • Re: DotNetNuke Community Forums

When you say 'migrated', what do you mean exactly? Are you talking about moving all threads from these forums on asp.net to dotnetnuke.com ? If so, the main complication we face is that we do not have any access to the data - you need to remember that the forums on asp.net are a hosted service provided by Microsoft ( as such we are simply Users of the application - not Owners of the application ).

  • DotNetNuke Community Forums

As we settle in to 2006, I would like to communicate some information which affects the DotNetNuke commmunity and specifically users of this discussion forum. Due to the constant moderation and traffic burden that the DotNetNuke Forum places on the www.asp.net website, Telligent Systems has recently suggested that we consider migrating our community to a dedicated Forum installation. They have even graciously offered to provide a free, hosted instance of their Community Server application ( ie. dnnforums

  • Re: DNN 4.0 missing code!

Looking at the source code for the DNN 3.x modules would not have provided these answers either. If you want to extend a module you need to follow standard ASP.NET development techniques and understand how to deal with interaction between a database, an application, and web interfaces. I have been intending to write more in that post but realistically my time has been fully consumed lately.
