Re: Decoding Viewstate with Winforms Application
Hi, Thanks for the help - I think I've got it working now. I just overlooked a bug in my original implementation of the Base64 decoding... even though it was only around 5-10 lines. Sometimes the simplest things, and the things least expected, can cause the most problems. It's working like a champ now though. Thanks!

Re: Ajax RC not working on production server, works on dev machine
Just to re-enforce what Scott said, I have found in the past that when I upgrade anything that is loaded in the GAC I have to restart IIS in order for the change to take effect. Sometimes it will work fine without the restart, but most times it is required. Jon

Re: Decoding Viewstate with Winforms Application
Man, I was doing something very similar to this, but I ended up having a bug in my code. I thought I was on the right path - thanks for the info.

Performance Monitor Counters and Windows Vista
I am trying to connect to a Windows Vista machine from my Windows XP SP2 machine to read the performance counter data using C#, but I am unable to connect. Even using "perfmon" in windows won't connect, but I can connect to file shares on the Vista machine just fine. Has Vista changed something in this regard so remote computers can connect to collect performance data, or am I doing something wrong in my code or in perfmon? The error I receive when I try to connect is "cannot connect to machine"

Re: Decoding Viewstate with Winforms Application
Hi George, I don't really use it as a web browser. It basically allows you to copy and paste a viewstate string from a web page and it will decode it for you. It is meant to help with debugging when developing websites, to make sure the viewstate isn't unncessarily bloated. Thanks

Decoding Viewstate with Winforms Application
Hi, I am working on a viewstate decoder. It is written using winforms and runs on v2.0 of the framework. I am able to successfully decode the viewstate from pages built with v2.0 using the losformatter. But it always fails when trying to decode the viewstate from a page built with v1.1 of the framework. Is there any way around this? Is it possible to just decode the viewstate manually, or is there a better way? Thanks!

Re: Ajax RC not working on production server, works on dev machine
Well, I started this topic 123 replies ago so I thought it would be appropriate for me to wrap it up as well. Go get the RTM version. I can testify that the RTM build fixes this problem.

Dotfuscator and ASP.Net Ajax RTM
Has anyone tried using Dotfuscator CE with an asp.net application that uses ASP.Net Ajax? I haven't been able to get it working, and was wondering if anyone else has tried this. The contents of my update panel don't seem to be there... all my drop-down lists are empty, and nothing updates. Thanks

Re: DefaultButton in UpdatePanel
I am having the same problem. :( DefaultButton works only in IE, not in Firefox. Can anyone on the Asp.net Ajax team comment on whether this will be fixed for the release version? Thanks

accountExpires from a DirectoryEntry without ActiveDs
Is it possible to read the "accountExpires" property from a DirectoryEntry without using the "ActiveDs.IADsLargeInteger" type? Can it be marshalled somehow, or cast to something? I've tried a few things with no luck. Thanks!
