Strongly typed access to result-set from Linq Join - to display in MVC view
I am new to the MVC/Linq party. I know that I can use something like the following to get strongly typed access, but what about if I want to use a join in my linq query? public void IQueryable GetItems(int CategoryID) { ...linq query... }

Re: MVC - Model binding with multiple entities on the same page
Thanks for your reply. I am wondering how to do this if I want to display data from a collection (of which the collection comprises of data from two different entities). Can I do this with Model Binding?

Re: MVC - Insert data into multiple entities from same page
Thanks for your reply. I should have mentioned that I am not using Linq2Sql. I am looking for a solution of how to insert more than one entity using the Model Binding approach?

MVC - Insert data into multiple entities from same page
I have a single page which collects related data into a series of input fields. When the user clicks submit I want to insert the data into two different database tables in one go. ie I want to get the primary key from the first insert, and then use it for the second insert operation. I am hoping to do this all in one go, but I am not sure of the best way to do this with the Models/Entities in MVC.

MVC - Model binding with multiple entities on the same page
I am wondering how to use Model Binding in a scenario where I am returning information from more than one entity on a page? I want to display a combination of fields from two separate entities, ie Customer + Address. I am using Microsoft's DAAB and custom business entities for my model. Any ideas?

ASP.NET MVC N-Layer Applications
I am uncertain how to best create an N-Layer app with ASP.NET MVC. Normally I put the following items into separate projects: - Business Objects - Data Access Layer - Business Logic Layer All of the examples I have seen of MVC bundle everything into the one app. This seems fine for smaller apps, but for enterprise applications I am wondering what approach people are taking. I'm thinking of keeping MVC as its on project and then referencing my other layers which reside in their own projects.

Complex Routing Scenario
I was wondering how to establish routing to handle sample URLs such as follows: www.mywebsite.com/ apples /details www.mywebsite.com/ bananas /details www.mywebsite.com/ pears /details www.mywebsite.com/ oranges /details www.mywebsite.com/ grapes /details I am hoping to have one action to handle this where the bolded text in the URL is actually the dynamic component (variable), and the "details" part of the URL would be the action. Is this possible?
