  Hye Gridview is a heavy weight controll but still u can used with good performanace as u have statated it is very slower on your client machine i think u are binding all 4000 records at once to the gridview which is very performanace costly if u are using paging of 100 records then u should fetch only 100 records from database. every time u should not fetch all the records when u are using only few of them. u should use some logic for paging at database side so that only usefull records can be fetched

  Hi I think u cant set filters on upload box as it is not serversid controll but it is a client side tool means it is features of browser but u can make validation for the selected file by some regular expression u must also check server side validation Hope this helps Happy Coding
