Re: Why is my app so slow running in IIS compared to Visual Web Developers built-in web server (cassini)?
Thank you for your input. I have been running profiler now for a while, doing some tests, comparing results from when running/requesting the same page (that fetches a bunch of records from the db) in Firefox 3.5 from both cassini and iis. this is what I get: cassini: iis 7.0

Re: Why is my app so slow running in IIS compared to Visual Web Developers built-in web server (cassini)?
I discovered something; I changed the setup a bit: I started from scratch; I unpacked the untouched zip with the app; I created a new site in IIS 7 and tested it and it works fine when surfing the pages that fetch stuff from the db! so the only difference here compared to my other setup is that the application is communicating with sql server express rather than sql server enterprise.

Why is my app so slow running in IIS compared to Visual Web Developers built-in web server (cassini)?
I have downloaded the well-known "TheBeerHouse" application and I have no problems with performance running it in Visual Studios built-in web server, but when I create a new website in IIS 7.0 on my Vista Ultimate 64bit machine with 8GB Ram 3+Ghz core duo and raptor disks the pages just wont load as fast as in cassini? The only difference is the web server. So it has to be some setting in IIS? I have disabled debug mode in web.config. I run sql server 2008 enterprise edition on the same

Re: This site is so slow, it's almost not usable
Truth is these forums have been slow for the past 2 years or so. It's SUPERslow both at home and at work (different ISPs - so couldnt be that?? or the routing??) I live in sweden btw. Maybe you should make some tests, surfing from within different countries. Time of day doesn't and should not matter btw. It should indeed be TOP priority. Performance are are not the easiest to resolve. I hope MS can do it! thanks! /z :)

Re: preload CheckedImageUrl for ToggleButtonExtender?
I could do that but then I would be forcing the user to untick the box everytime he or she wants to login. the standard behaviour and the most logical is to let the user decide. there must be some way to preload these images?

preload CheckedImageUrl for ToggleButtonExtender?
hello how can i preload the checked image, CheckedImageUrl , for a ToggleButtonExtender connected to a asp:CheckBox control when the page is first served to the client so that when the user clicks on the checkbox it doesnt flicker. i can see in fiddler that the flicker occurs the first time the checked image is requested. any ideas? 1 <asp:CheckBox ID="RememberMe" runat="server" Text="Remember Me" CssClass="login_chkRememberMe" /> 2 < cc1:ToggleButtonExtender

Re: resetting "tag specific options"
i think i managed to solve it; if you have probs look for the xml file in a folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\Packages\schemas\xml\1033 there should be an untouched file here that you can copy to your C:\Users\$User\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\VisualStudio\9.0 folder thanks z
