Re: ORA-12170 when trying to login ASP .net app
Hi! 1) What version of the Oracle client are you running (i.e. nothing to do with .Net... but the install from Oracle)?? 2) Are you using ODP.Net or System.Data.OracleClient?? 3) What does your ConnectionString look like?? 4) How are you trying to connect to the database (in code/using the SqlDataSource control)?? Cheers, James

Re: Printing TabContainer
Hmmm... been thinking about this a fair bit more since I posted... I'm now convinced that the ControlAdapter route is the best. I'm playing round with a solution that seems to work quite well (and thankfully took a lot less time than I originally anticipated). Still got a few things to sort out though to make it look "right"!

Printing TabContainer
Hi there! Just wondering if anyone has managed to achieve the following: I've got a page with a TabContainer in it... and I want to print it. By default the printed page will show the tab container just as it appears on screen. But that's not what I want!! I want to the printed page to reflect the contents of the TabContainer e.g. Tab1 Tab1's contents get rendered Tab2 Tab2's contents get rendered etc. etc. I've had a brief look at how to accomplish this, but am realising this

Re: Problem based on following "Scott's todo list" guidelines
Firstly, I'm surprised that you are taking 30+ seconds to run a query!! I know you said you don't want answers like this... and I'm sorry.. but... this sounds huge to me! There have GOT to be ways to reduce this time down. Secondly, on to what you really want to know... how to set the timeout. Well... you're using an objectdatasource... which simply calls whatever method you specify to return your results. So it sounds like that method must create a SqlConnection then a SqlCommand and execute something

Re: Direct Control: How to register a javascript in hosting page?
Sounds rather strange to me... whether you've got a webcontrol library... or are using a custom control... you should have access to the page object!! Can you post some more information??

Re: Need help with insert statement on table with several non-null fields
Trying not to state the obvious... but... 'ColumnName' cannot be NULL and you're not including it in your INSERT statement... so guess what... SQL is going to try and INSERT NULL into ColumnName!!! So really the question you need to ask is... what do you want to store in this field?? Surely you must have a default value that you want to put in there... if not, how do you expect to derive the value?? If you're using a default, this can be added to the table/column design. If you're doing something
