updateprogress image in middle of screen moves with scroll or cursor change
ok this is driving me nuts, i am trying to create either a div with a background image that gets positioned in the middle of the page even if the page scrolls downward and this has to happen everytime any of my three updatepanels on my page get triggered or everytime the updatepanels get triggered, the cursor changes to an hourglass the way ive set it up currently with a background image in the div and the div positioned based on scrolltop plus a certain number sets the div position with the scrolltop

Re: updatepanel contenttemplate within a loginview contenttemplate control is this possible
why would that be considered normal to put the loginview inside the updatepanel? it wouldnt make sense in my situation listed below I have different users logging on with different roles. Each role displays different controls and content and the different roles consist of a bunch of controls that i have wrapped in the updatepanel for atlas capabilities is there no way of making this happen?

I know i could set the failuretext property of the login control, but is there a way i could trigger that failuretext to appear manually but without tampering with the login controls validations that are already in place

Re: problems accessing my webservices functions
after trying a few different things, this lead me to another question kind of related to this i tried putting my codebehind in the same file where my client script stuff resides and just put a [WebMethod] tag in the codebehind and it seemed to work Now im wondering does it make a difference to have the codebehind code in the same file as your client scripting stuff or would it be better to have a webservice file in a separate location that gets accessed from the client side file is their better security

Group multiple table rows into columns of a datalist or repeater control
i have the following table: id quantity desc 1 5 desc1 1 3 desc2 1 2 desc3 2 4 desc1 2 3 desc2 3 6 desc1 3 7 desc2 and this table could have 1 or multiple records with the same id, and what i need to do is display the quantity and desc of ID 1's rows in a column in the datalist and then ID 2's rows in another column in the datalist and 3 in a 3rd column and so on does anybody know if there is a way to accomplish this??? Could the "ExtractTemplateRows" property used in some way to make this happen
