Re: want to limit user to maximum of 3 entries in a data table
Hi, Thanks for the reply. Got the Stored Proc down. i must admit I am a bit confused with part of the code. I am used to using a dataset in the DAL and table adaptors with a BLL and Object data source. http://www.asp.net/learn/data-access/ http://www.asp.net/learn/data-access/tutorial-68-cs.aspx The data layer code is something I am totally familiar with. Is it possible to demonstrate or if not could you say where the Data layer code goes(page behind) and I was not clear about the last 2 replies

sending form results by email including checkboxes if selected
Hi, I have 2 questions regarding getting the results from a form and sending these via email. On my aspx page, I have a form for a visit to fill out. There is a asp.net "checkbox List" control with about 15 items. Could someone show how I can loop throught the CheckBoxList1 and if a box is selected send it in the email? Question 2 On the email that is received i want to format the results to make it clearer. So for example I would have headers first and then the results below from the form

Re: want to limit user to maximum of 3 entries in a data table
Hi, i took another look at your solution here. Could you show me what I need to do to make it work taking your suggestion. In my database, I have a songs datatable with the following columns SongId P-K songName Media MemberId int (f-k to Member Table) A registered member on the site can enter songs they like into the Songs datatable. If the member has added 3 already, I want the insert statement not to complete and a message is shown to the user saying (you have 3 songs in already) on the aspx page

Re: want to limit user to maximum of 3 entries in a data table
Hi, below is the code for the 3 tables in the database that matter. A visitor can see the name and club of footballers on displayfootabllers.aspx. They can add their favourites to footballerUser Table by clicking a button. I have an insert method in the DAL/BLL that passes in the "int" of the Footballer and the "int" of the UserId. If the User already has 3 entries in the FootballerUserTable- I want a message to show saying "you are only allowed 3 entries maximum" Footballer

Re: want to limit user to maximum of 3 entries in a data table
Hi, Having a bit of trouble scripting the whole database. Coud you provide a summary again. I have a dataset with various tables in THE DAL. Each table has select, Update, Insert statements and the methods are in the BLL on the aspx page - i am using datalist, gridview, and detailsview binded to the methods in th e BLL via an objectdatasource to display profiles of footballers to site visitors. The main table is "footballerUser" It is a junction table with a link to FootballerTable and
