Re: Problem with ProfileService
Hi druffi: I am not sure why you are getting the error when deployed on IIS. Can you provide some more info: 1. Are you using the RTM version of ASP.NET AJAX ? 2. Are you using the shipped JavaScript proxy: Sys.Services.ProfileService ?

Re: Can't use Text Decoration with Description Tag !!!!!!! serious BUG
Hi Ahmed - Appologies for the delayed response. There is a work around for which you need to use escape characters. For instance: <b>Make this text bold</b> Needs to be written as: < b > Make this text bold < /b > The “<” is replaced with “ < ” and “>” is replaced with “ > ” With the current design, description is declared as a string type which makes it invalid to use HTML markup. I will look into if there are more natural ways around this

Re: Using the database rather than XML
Hi Patrick: 1. User Instances: this is a useful article on user instances: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms254504.aspx . Hope you find your answer here. 2. The remove statement is not really needed - its redundant. (Remove is used to remove/clear previously declared entries) Thanks Mir

Re: Using the database rather than XML
1. Connection string seems fine, I believe you wanted to specify "user instance=true" rathat than "instance=true". Correct ? 2. In order to turn on database (and turn off xml) as the datasource, change the following configuration section: FROM <SmallBusinessDataProviders peopleProviderName="xmlProvider" testimonialsProviderName="xmlProvider" catalogProviderName="xmlProvider" newsProviderName="xmlProvider" > TO <SmallBusinessDataProviders peopleProviderName=" sqlProvider " testimonialsProviderName

Re: Problem with the installer
I was able to recreate the problem on Visual Web Developer 2005 + Service Pack 1 (beta) + Windows XP Professsional with Slovenian Language Pack Source: The source of the problem was the Service Pack 1 (beta) for Visual Web Developer 200 Fix: The fastest fix is to uninstall Visual Web Developer 2005 completely. Then reinstall it. And not install the SP1. Note: If you need to install SP 1, do so after installing the starter kits. I will notify the VWD of this issue. Appologies for the trouble.Hope
