Re: creating external contacts
good information! Could one also go into ADUC and create it there? I have several users that want mail forwarded to a external account. Ive been going in...creating it ...hiding it from the GAL..and setting up the forward. I notice that the forward doesnt automatically populate the email addresses field and i have to manually add in the external address after the contact is created but it seems to work. I looked in adsiedit to see if there is any ldap path to set simular to MsExchquerybaseDN but

creating external contacts
What is the process for creating external contacts? I dont see anything listed in the MPSWeb site or the MPSSampleWeb site. I have a few users that would like email forwared to external addresses. Do you have provision these a certain way or can you just go into ADUC and create them as external contacts in the companies OU?

Re: Reporting and Report Data
yes it is strange indeed. Our hecustomerdb is on our mpssql box. Our reports are run from the momsql box. Not sure how the 2 are communicating but our momsql box is always logged in as our momservice account. The data is still goofy. in the last 30 days.....my test domain has had 2 active users and 12 inactive. I dont have 12 users in the domain :) I also have only used one account to see if it would show as one and report properly. No clue where it gets 2.....or 12...... odd...

Reporting and Report Data
I have a few questions about reports. First, can anyone tell me where the customer datat is stored. I assume it is on the momsql01 server but in which database is the live data stored? I have checked a few and cant seem to locate any accurate data about customers on the system. Also, i am running a unmolested 3.5 HMC install with a few customers on it. IM pulling up the reporting pages and under cumulative reports and im not seeing accurate numbers. (to be more accurate HOME>Hosted Messaging and

Re: IS OMA a feature type ???
Thanks for the Info! I have my plans already defined.......and working. Is it possible to add this OMA Feature Type into an exisiting plan? (some how merge it in) or will i have to create new plans and assign those new plans to users? I would like to just edit the existing plans to enable and or disable OMA. I know....for the most part....once you provision a plan into the system...you cant remove it...but can you edit it? or add to it??

question about public folders...
I have a client that i have executed provtest CreateOrganzationPublicFolder.xml into the system with a certain public folder size. It works great but now...they want more space. I have increased the number via the MPSSampleWeb page but it doesnt appear to have increased on the "back end" I tried to provision the CreateOrgPubFldr.xml again with the new size requirement........and it errored out saying that it already existed (i sort of saw that comming). How do i provision in the extra space?

Re: IS OMA a feature type ???
that makes sense. ill have to add this into my plans for control. By default it is enabled for everyone. I havent put this into any of my plans thus far so i imagine it is still enabled for everyone. how do i disable it? Would i do this through windows and then enable it via a plan with the tags above....or do i do somthing in provisioning to remove OMA (EG. <nativeAttribute>msExchOmaAdminWirelessDisable </nativeAttribute> or somthing like this to disable it and the <nativeAttribute>msExchOmaAdminWirelessEnable

IS OMA a feature type ???
In the instructions it says to edit a file CreatePlanFeatureType.xml and from that point you make the WarningQuota.xml where you create that feature type. The documenation has you edit out all the other features including the OMA out of the file. My question is .....is the OMA created as a feature type durring the install of the HMC3.5 or is that some you have to create manually? I notice none of my plans have an OMA section in them. <feature> <featureName> OMA </featureName> <featureDescription>OMA

basic way for users to change there own passwords...?
Im looking for a way to have users easily change there own passwords. I know i can have them go to /MPSSampleWeb">https://<fqdn>/MPSSampleWeb and they can input there username and password .......and this will bring them to a page where all they can do is change the current password to a new one. That would work fine but if the password is an error which doenst meet the windows 2003 password requirements you get a nasty xml dump at the bottom of the screen...... I guess even if it is successfull
