Re: Cassini on Vista problem
UltiDev Cassini Web Server supports Vista x32 and x64, comes in two flavors: for ASP.NET 1.1 and 2.0 (2.0 can also run both 1.1 and 2.0 apps). It is free and redistributable as a Visual Studio 2005 prerequisite.

Re: Unable to access my computer server
Or better yet, use free UltiDev Cassini web server - it's based on the original Cassini code but has lots of bug fixes and additions, including ability to serve and application to remote clients.

Re: VS/cassini error.
With XP Home and Visual Studio 2003 you are out of luck: VS 2003 requires IIS, and XP Home does not have it. You will need to either upgrade your Windows to Pro, or use Visual Studio 2005. VS 2005 Express Editions are free.

Re: Cassini - unusual problem - "request will never complete"
According to vois22 (we exchanged emails), DNN 4.3.6 has a bug - it fails to redirect to URLs with ports other than 80. It looks like DNN 4.3.6 cannot be used with any of the Cassini server family, unless DNN under Cassini runs on port 80.

Re: Cassini won't start.
Try UltiDev version of Cassini Web Server - it will automatically find a free port when you register an application with it.

Re: cassini, temporarydirectory
Hi there! The easiest way to do it is to get UltiDev Cassini Web Server - a free derivative from the original one. UltiDev version of Cassini runs as a windows service under Local System account and should have no problem accessing that folder. It's also fairly easy to bundle your application with UltiDev Cassini.

Memory leak in Cassini Sample? Server.Stop() does not unload AppDomain.
I noticed that if Server object created and destroyed several times during process lifetime, memory usage goes up significantly. Specifically I noticed that Server.Stop() does not immediatly free memory previously allocated when ASP.NET AppDomain was created. Even though AppDomain may eventually get unloaded after corresponding ASP.NET application times out (I don't know if that will actually happen), it seems a better idea would be to make sure that Server.Stop() method unloads AppDomain created

FYI: Cassini's MapPath() is not the same as in IIS.
Original Cassini for ASP.NET 1.1 from MS has MapPath() method implementation working not quite like one in IIS. if MapPath argument contains trailing slashes, than IIS MapPath() will return the restul with trailing slashes, while Cassini's result will not have trailing slashes. For example, in IIS calling label.Text = this .Page.Request.MapPath( @"SubFolder\" ); will return 'C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\MapPathTest\SubFolder \ ', while the same page served by Cassini will return 'C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\MapPathTest
