• "Web Form" missing from Add New Item dialog window

  Yet another bug with VS2005... Using File->New->File or right click on a project and select "Add New Item" brings up a dialog box that "Web Form" is missing from. I cannot add new web forms to any web projects this way, I have to copy and paste other ASPX pages to add new files. It happens when logged in as any user on my machine. I tried mucking around with the template files but they all look right.

  Because for some reason Microsoft rarely issues patches to Visual Studio even for known problems. Why they can't just fix things in a timely manner and release them to Windows Update or on the VS website is beyond me...

  I'm having the same issue except I do not get any error message. The control ID simply reverts back to the previous ID. This is using VS2005 Professional (gold), WinXP, with a converted project from aspnet 1.1.

• Cannot change control ID property with Visual Studio 2005 (ASP.NET 2.0 Web App)

  I am not able to change the ID property from the properties window in Visual Studio 2005. I get no error messages. After typing in the new name of a property, if you tab out of the field or click back to the designer the control name reverts to the default (e.g. TextBox1, etc). If I change the ID from the "Source" view it all works correctly. I'm finding a lot of little bugs like this in VS2005.

  It seems to me that if it was too late to add the feature to turn it off, then it was too late to add the feature in the first place. I'm getting really tired of half-done software releases...
