Re: Mail gets send out but not received on outside email providers
Are you doing this from a home connection? I have spent hours trying to figure stuff like this out just to find out that comcast / cox etc block non registered SMTP servers for spyware / spam purposes obv

Best Practices when working on a live ASP.NET site???
I had a question about best practices when working on a live ASP.NET site specifically when you are changing class files in the App_Code folder. We all know that when you make changes to those .vb files your application resets and users sessions get reset. Is there any way around this other than a big Under Construction / Temporary down time page. Right now (call me crazy) but i just work on our live website directly and yes I know that is foolish but that is the only setup they had for me here.

Error: http://www.w3.org/xml/1998/namespace:base attribute not declared
Is no one else getting this error? I get this error every time I try to open Add New Item -> Report Wizard or try to add a dataset to one of my existing rdlc. The original reports were created in VS 2005. Even when i open them and allow them to be converted to 2008 i still get that error. Very crippling please help

Re: Error: http://www.w3.org/xml/1998/namespace:base attribute not declared
Ok it has to be a problem with my .xsd data sets since when i do a new project with no data sets everything is fine. Which is ridiculous since i've only used the designer to create them. Maybe its possible issues from VS 2005

Re: Error: http://www.w3.org/xml/1998/namespace:base attribute not declared
Ok I figured it out. Not sure exactly what was happening but I guess there was a big change in the way datasets were created from 2005 to the way VS 2010 handles them which is understandable but a conversion feature or at least a heads up would have been nice. First I started a new .net 3.5 website in VS 2010. Then I copied all of my web.config connection strings from the current website to the new web.config. I opened each .xsd file on the current website and did a select all then copy in design

Dynamic Report Viewer?
Has anyone ever created a dynamic report viewer webpage where you can pick a report from a list enter some critera and generate that report but have it all done programatically. I created one a while ago but it was in VS 2005 and something has broken since then so I want to redo it but I would like to redo it right. Below is what i had before and it worked like a charm but I felt like i wasn't doing it right. I would collect the criteria from one page and then redirect the parameters to the viewer

Re: Dynamic Report Viewer?
Not bad. I wasn't too far off. http://www.devx.com/dotnet/Article/30424/0/page/5 All I had to do was add the new report viewer dlls using GACView to get the old reports to function correctly

Re: error: '_events' is null or not an object - update panel
Thank you!!!!!!!!!! That totally fixed it. I never use the default OK and Close buttons so they are invisible. Moving them outside of the update panel was not a problem at all. I use a custom button that calls mdlPopup.Hide() on the code behind page to close the popup

Re: Simple: Save image from direct local URL to File
The <img src="imagegenerator.aspx?sessionid=234234234" /> works like a charm, however I want the ability to save the generated image for use later. The process that takes place when the image is rendered is WAY too strenuous to use that method everytime someone loads the page.
