  • Re: Betreft: Re: DNN 4.0 Module upload issue

Do we know of anyone outside the core team that has had success? We need to figure out what's different from that setup to ours. If its broken for everyone, then there may be a detail that's been overlooked in the package. Also, has anyone noticed that the packages for DNN4.0 were updated yesterday (11/11/05)? I downloaded the package and some timestamps on the dll's were different but I tried a fresh install with the updated package and had the same results. I wish I had VS2005 so I could be of

  • Re: Installation Documentation for DotNetNuke 4.0

The DNN 3.2 and 4.0 installation instructions are nearly identical. Take a look at the Documents\Welcome.html file in the DNN4 package you downloaded. That has a more concise, and updated, installation method.

  • Re: DNN 4.0 "Install" package -- what the ??

I'm sure I'm not the only one that didn't have missing files in the DNN4 install. The only issue I saw pertaining to file structure of the Install package was that my siteURLS.config file was in the Config folder, not the root of the DNN install. Other than that, it was a unzip / edit / figure out all the newb mistakes I made / run.

  • Re: dotnetnuke tutorials

In the DNN package you've downloaded, head to a folder in there called "Documents". There should be a welcome.html file in there that has a web-based tutorial. There is also a documentation download in the downloads section of dotnetnuke.com.

  • Re: Compiler Error Message: BC30451: Name 'Config' is not declared.

Try extracting the install version instead of the Source version. In order to use the source version, you need to compile the solution in Visual Web Dev (or Visual Studio). After you do that, you might get an error about a missing file, "sitesURL.config" (or something close). You'll find that file in the Config directory of your DNN install. Just copy that out to the root folder of your DNN install and it should clear up. Hope that helps!

The connection string must be all on one line. Try taking out the carriage returns.

  • Re: Error with a specific page name (

Are you running the site on a host with Medium Security? If so, you'll need to get your host to change the security settings so that DNN has the necessary privelages. What about checking to make sure the ASP.Net user has full control for the I:\DNN4 directory and its subdirectories (files). Hope that helps!

  • Re: DotNetNuke: Newbie and Local Install

I believe I've read elsewhere that Visual WebDev Express does not have the capability to build DNN. For now, I would not use the Source version and just use the install version. Try getting the site set up so you can get familiar with how it works before trying to build it from scratch :) Hope that helps!
