HttpWebResponse GetResponse Stackoverflow
I have a page that has some controls in edit mode (from FormView) that loads off XML content from an external url (php/cgi/pl page). The strange thing is that sometime it just throws me a stack overflow without me doing anything (it happened in readonly and edit mode). Could this be a debugging mode problem? I have noticed two threads could be running my code at the same time (I could step in two functions at the same time - it could be a result of bad logic also). I also noticed that session variables

Re: Javascript and Master Page problem
I hope I came across this post last week. Here is what I used for a content page to use Javascript and that is also linked to a MasterPage. // Define the name, type and url of the client script on the page. String csname = "UtilScript" ; String csurl = this .ResolveClientUrl( "~/script/util.js" ); //thanks to this post I update this with ResolveClientUrl Type cstype = this .GetType(); // Get a ClientScriptManager reference from the Page class. ClientScriptManager cs = Page.ClientScript; // Check

Re: MasterPage, Javascript, and XHTML : Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object expected
I have solved the problem. The solution I used (there are many) is to call IsClientScriptIncludeRegistered to include the <script> element for the content page. For whatever reason if I do it manually on the .aspx file it won't work. This is the easiest thing to do since you don't have to register javascript code in c# (that means concactenating javascript source in a string variable, it's very ugly). I found and used this sample (it creates the <script> element for you): // Define the

Re: MasterPage, Javascript, and XHTML : Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object expected
On which page do I need a server control (master or content page)? I have server control on both pages. With ClientScriptManager do you mean that I need to register the javascript code (that I haven't tried) for the content page so I can call a javascript function on that page? Thanks.

MasterPage, Javascript, and XHTML : Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object expected
Hi: I am trying to find a solution as to why I can't make a call to a javascript function from a content page (when using a MasterPage). My setup is like this. I have a MasterPage with < script type ="text/javascript" language ="javascript" src ="~/util.js"> in the <head> element. I have a util.js function launch_job_question() { var retValue = window.showModalDialog( "launch_question.aspx" ,window, "dialogHeight:250px; dialogWidth:150px; resizable:no; scroll:no; status:no; help:no;"

Re: Puzzled - Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object expected
Thanks for your input I have found more hints for people to help. 1. I create a new file without a masterpage connected to it and it works with my javascript code on in the same file. I suspect that I am not using the script element correctly because I am using a master page and the javascript is not on the same file as the content file. 2. I tried that before and for me it yields the same result because onClientClick is the same as adding onClick in code behind with attribute.add. This result to

Puzzled - Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object expected
Basically I have a master page that has the javascript stuff (include util.js file). I have a page that calls a modal window using onclick="launch_job_question()". I keep getting Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object expected. I put empty and alert("blah") and I still get this error. I tried my code outside of asp.net and it works in HTML and XHTML (asp.net 2 generates this format). I tried to use attribute.add("onClick","launch_job_question()") but it result in the same source code at runtime

Re: Getting TreeView to postback when node is checked/unchecked
What I want to do is almost identical to sentha's but I want only non-leaf node to have the onclick call to __doPostBack. First of all what do I have to do to add the onclick attribute to the TreeNode/TreeView class(show the code) so my nodes have correct event hooked to the javascript function? What I want to do is to add an action to add the onclick to all non-leaf node once the tree is going to render, which event do I need to modify (it should be a very quick iteration)? The last question is

Re: Sv.: Re: Treeview - SelectedNodeChanged event never fired
Is there a way to make the treeview generate events knowingly instead of on postback? Basically I want to use the treeview the way you do when you install Visual Studio 2005 (tri-state checkbox). I think the treeview lacks some flexibility. Is there a way to enable event firing programmatically.

Re: GridView Update programmatically when SQLDataSource is also used - problem
Meanwhile I come up with a less than desired solution (IMHO). I created a store procedure to call two other store procedure to update my two tables. I inserted the store procedure call to the UpdateCommand="store procedure here". Then I added the UpdateParameters (I used sessions variables). I tried to use ControlParameter but it couldn't find the control in EditItemTemplate (I read one comment saying that it's not possible do that in a GridView). Is there other ways to pass in the variables like
