• Re: Help with setting up ASP.NET web server.

  Follow the SETUP section in this thread. Basically, you've either not installed the .NET Framework or you've not set up a PATH environment variable to it. If you run the build.bat from a command window you should get more of a clue what the problem is.

  See my thread: http://forums.asp.net/1082874/ShowPost.aspx Your authentication error will likely be easily fixed by commenting out the authentication line in the Web.config file. Similarly, the whole of the sessionState block likely needs to be commented out. If you can help with my debugging questions on the other thread I'd really appreciate it.

  You can remove the '$' and retry. Best bet is to rename the wwwroot share name to 'wwwroot$' and then you won't get the error in future.

• A simple HOW TO for getting Cassini working with XP Home and Visual Studio 2003

  It seems the same questions keep cropping up, hopefully my own notes might help those who haven't the time to trawl through the old threads looking for information. Most of the stuff included came from this forum, it may not be complete, entirely accurate or best practise, but it works for me. SETUP 1. Download and install the .NET Framework SDK (installs GACUTIL.EXE) 2. From the start menu select 'Start/Control Panel/System/Advanced/Environment Variables', and add a new User Variable called 'PATH
