  • DNN 4.0.2 - FTB Image Gallery Default Path - How to Set

I have installed a DNN 4.0.1 at a DiscountASP.NET server. When I tried to use the Image Gallery button on the FTB, I get basically the following error Path not found Providers/HtmlEditorProviders/Ftb3HtmlEditorProvider/ftb3/~s/0 I would like to correct this path to my portal's Image directory. I don't care I can't upload images and that's not a question, I know I cannot upload images by default. The question is where exactly in DNN (either Web.Config or the database) this path is set? Thank you in

OK, more update on this one. It turns out that I was getting a lot of Application Shutdowns on my DNN. I had to specifically enable DNN shutdown events to be logged in order to find this out. Then I asked DiscountASP.NET support if they know of anything about this and got the following answer. Dear Sir, We host each website in its own IIS Worker process for maximum stability and security. To ensure maximum server stability, we recycle the process under certain condition 1) More than 20 minutes of

Thank you for a lot of information about Hosting 4 Life outfit. I really like DiscountASP.NET outfit up until I started to implement the DNN there, but once the DNN is in place my whole attitude changed, as I am left with the impression that they seem to discourage the DNN, as their official announcement is that "We do not officially support DNN." so there is very little information. I really liked them because they tend to have very little problems and uptime record has been the best of all of the

Hi Charlie: I saw a product that writes view state in to a local cache and I think that's the stuff you are talking about, I presume. I am curious to know what really fixes it. In the past several hours, there has not been a whole application restart yet, but I did seem to have lost a login now in the past 3 hours or so (this might be a different issue than what we are discussing in this thread because users does not get kicked out on our case, but we practically have NO "remember login" capabilities

Keith, Thank you for that insight. I have enabled the site log and see how often the app is restarting and get back. It is DicountASP.NET that I am using. Also, through the history of changes I made to the site, it no longer upgrades to 3.2.0, so I am actually thinking about ditching DiscountASP and go to another ASP that are better equipped to support DNN. If anybody reading this have a good suggestion, please let me know.

I have had the similar behavior on my DotNetNuke 3.1.0 and presently on 3.1.1. This has really been annoying our users, and I could not find out what the problem is. I do not have the issue with other known DNN site, for example, dotnetnuke.com or activemotules.com or snowcovered.com, so it is not a problem with my web browser configuration, proxy or other stuff. What appears to be is that the the cookie mechanism isn't used at all specific to my site, or if it is used something else is preventing

I am really stoked to find out that there are alternatives and I can plug all these editors in. This is really great information! Due to the nature of the topic and society I am dealing with, we have a good mixture of Mac and Windows users, so keeping all of them happy is very very important because the bottom line is that if they don't come back and write messages then I cannot maintain a good traffic and will affect the Ad click revenue etc., which is not much of a money but I am relying on that

  • Re: Remember Login STILL does not work in DNN 3.1.0

Along this line, I would like to really understand how DNN 3.1's authentication works, and if there are some specific mechanisms to it. It seems like it does not use some simple persistent cookie mechanism like other web sites do? There were some mention of .NET worker process dying and restarting that affects this behavior, but if that's the case in shared environment like mine with many other rogue or poorly memory managed web site on the save server there is no control (other than moving to another

Cathal, As you indicated, due to the moderation timing, I missed your post, but now I am really glad to see the answer. So it looks like in a later version of DNN we will get a later version of FTB and that's the answer I was looking for, and this is not a high risk item for the operation of our web site, I will opt to wait for the full DNN release. You folks are doing great job in keeping this platform going. I am and my surfing community is getting a lot out of it. Thank you very much again for

  • Remember Login STILL does not work in DNN 3.1.0

"Remember Login" still does not work for me on my DNN 3.1.0 site. In order to avoid some basic response coming to this post, yes cookies are allowed on my browser, it is passing through firewalls and all that. I have signed up on New York Times and My Yahoo accounts and they all remember me. This seems to be DNN design specific and or probably specific to either my ASP (which is Discount ASP.NET) or combination of both? The site is http://www.culturewave.net/Portal The interesting behavior is that
