Thanks, BillRob. That is definitely one solution to this problem. Stephen

Replacing Page Base Class Across the Whole Site
In my apps, I use a class called BasePage to add functionality to all my ASP.NET Pages. Instead of making my pages derive from System.Web.Ui.Page, they all derive from my BasePage class. This class currently only performs two functions: it applies the theme from the user's profile and it tracks the uri of the page on the load in a stack in the user's session. (The later is used in a fancy system that allows any page to redirect back to the page that redirected to it.) This works really well. There

Inefficient Themes Applied by CSS: Web Part Zones
Have you noticed that, for some controls such as the web part zone, themes are applied by some rather clever CSS styles. This is really cool except for the fact that these themes are duplicated for EVERY instance of the control! Here is an example: I have a page with five web part zones on it. In my skin file, I have defined the visual appearance of a web part zone, to make them all look the same. At the top of my output, there are five identical sets of CSS classes to apply these themes. On this

Re: Enumerating Available Themes and Skins
Thanks Michail, you saved me some time scratching around to get all the directories right. I stuck your code into a user control with some cool caching and error handling, and I now have a nice component that I can use to choose themes.

Re: Enumerating Available Themes and Skins
Thanks, that is quite easy. I thought there might be a preferred method or something in the frameworks to simply enumerated them. How quickly one becomes a lazy developer...

Enumerating Available Themes and Skins
Is there a simple or recommended method to use to enumerate all the available themes in the ASP.NET 2.0 App_Themes folder of a web application? I want to populate my theme selection drop down list dynamically, without having to change a database table, CSV configuration setting or code file. Thanks, Stephen

Changing IDs in ASP.NET Form Designer Error
Hi, When I change ID values in design mode in the ASP.NET 2.0 form designer, in Visual Studio 2005 Team Edition for Developers, release, an error box shows stating that "The Directory Name is Invalid." This is not critical, I can change these values in the markup view, which is actually my preferred method, but it is sometimes nice to be able to do it in design view. Has anyone else experienced this? Stephen

Re: Attribute not recognized 'minRequiredNonAlphanumericCharacters'
Thanks, that worked. For a C++ developer, I must be slipping to be hammered by a case sensitivity issue. Stephen

Re: ASP.NET 2.0 Web Admin Tool Breaks IntelliSense
Thanks, that fixed it. Considering that this is supposed to be the final release version, a fact which is in some doubt, it has a hell of a lot of bugs in it. I hope there is a Service Release soon - to fix the little things. Stephen

ASP.NET 2.0 Web Admin Tool Breaks IntelliSense
In ASP.NET 2.0, In visual Studio 2005 - Release - Using the Websight Administration tool causes changes (of no specific value) to be made to your Web.Config file - even if everything is configured perfectly and you only use the tool to add roles, or delete users from a SQL data store. These changes break IntelliSense in Web.Config, one of VS 2005's best new features. Does anyone know how to get it back, short of creating a new config file?
