  • Need help decoding registry timezones mapId...

Learned a lot about how to read the registry timezones stored, which list 75 timezones of the world. The one piece I'm missing is an understanding of the MapId, and just what it means. I can't seem to find any doc on how to decode it so I can actually use it to key a timezone location to a map. Anybody got a clue? I'd like to use this to build my own app that displays a timezone and brings up a map of the zone the user selects. Thanks for your help.

  • Re: Long times times to wait for post moderator approvals...

Ok, thanks for the info, appreciate it, as probably other do in the 'moderated' user category. The waits are just frustrating knowing that you've got someone willing to help and you can't get your update seen. It's hard to be helpful when you don't know too much and are just seeking answers, but I guess the real keyword is to remain positive in posts. I'll work on that piece, frustration sometimes makes me sour, and I apologize to anyone I've offended.

  • Long times times to wait for post moderator approvals...

Seems like it's taking longer and longer to get 'moderated' users posts to appear on these forums. It would really be helpful to newbies to at least offer some kind of better attention to the moderation tasks. I know this is a volunteer effort, so any positive help is appreciate. However, when we do get someone responding to a question, moderated users cannot exchange info needed to further the help being offerred. How long does it take for a user to get 'unmoderated' status, and what needs to be

  • Re: Failure to register desktop module in v3.2

Well, it's basically a modified core module that I am using to add some custom changes. First step was to rename the namespaces in all of the files to MyCustom.Modules.Notes, and proceed to make all of the other changes to match, like replacing the 'Announcements' with 'Notes'. What I'm really needing is a way to zoom in on the installation of the module during the DNN installation process. Is there a way to turn-on some kind of verbose logging, or capture the background events that the DNN installer

All good info, will look forward to the tutorial, too. BTW - that's a really nice logo for the SC DNN Users Group. Great design!

  • Re: showstopper: Error running DNN3.2.1 on ASP.net 2.0 medium trust

From what I understand, this is not really a DNN 'fixable' issue. It's due to ASP.Net code access security. The implementation is flexible, but you would need access to the machine.config to setup any changes, or install DNN to the GAC, I think. There are a ton of posts on this subject, and DNN is not the only web app that is going to be restricted by CAS, either. If you are doing a local host install, it's pretty easily remedied, but a lot of remote hosters are moving to a more restrictive security

  • Re: Profile Changes are not being saved...

Still think there is something wrong. I've done this a few times, each time waiting for over an hour, or day waiting for the updates. Still nothing. Can you check by trying it yourself. None of the actions/options are being saved.
