Re: Could not load file or assembly 'AjaxControlToolkit' or one of its dependencies. The parameter is incorrect. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070057 (E_INVALIDARG))
Hi, Thanks for the response. I have replaced the toolkit dll in the bin directory of the project. I haven't created a NEW ajax project, but do have an existing project that does work. I have also replaced the web.config file in the problem project with one from the ajax sample website and it still doesnt work. I have tried to uninstall the framework and also uninstall VS.NET as well but have run into problems with uninstalling VS.NET on Vista (PS Repair doesnt work either). I will keep trying

Hi adefwebserver , Thanks for the post. I'll give that a try. I'm not sure if uninstalling and reinstalling the .net framework will help though as for other web projects they still run. Its just the one I was trying to build at the time my computer locked up. Still, I'll give it a try and let you know how I go. Thanks again, Glen

Could not load file or assembly 'AjaxControlToolkit' or one of its dependencies. The parameter is incorrect. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070057 (E_INVALIDARG))
Hi All, Got a bit of a strange one. I have been building an ASP.NET 2.0 app now for quite a while and had everything working quite well untill my computer froze when running the app from the debugger. Now i get the following error message Could not load file or assembly 'AjaxControlToolkit' or one of its dependencies. The parameter is incorrect. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070057 (E_INVALIDARG)) I have reinstalled Ajax 1.0, reinstalled the toolkit vsi, copied the web config from a working

Re: Syntax Error Line 4, after RewritePath
Good news, the problem is now solved! A big thanks to ScottGu at Microsoft for pointing me in the right direction! I was rewritting requests for .axd files as well as .aspx files so when it was running with AJAX controls the reference to the JS files was being broken. After changing the logic to check the file type, it worked well! Thanks again Scott! Regards, Glen www.emmersivemedia.com.au

Syntax Error Line 4, after RewritePath
Hi All, I am having a bit of trouble getting ajax controls to work correctly after doing a RewritePath call. Basically I am doing URL rewritting and have noticed that after I call code in the Global.asax trigger Application_AuthenticateRequest I get the following javascript error when viewed with IE7. Line: 4 Char: 1 Error: Syntax Error I have been able to setup the code so that I can turn off the code that does the Rewritepath and when this is done it loads without a problem, so I suspect it is

Re: losing Session Values with Response.Redirect(NewPath, False)
Hi Everyone, Thanks again for your help Rex. I found the problem was where I was trying to read the session variables ......I was trying to read them from Application_BeginRequest. At that stage they dont exist. I moved my code to PreRequestHandlerExecute and now it works! Burnt a few days on this one......glad its fixed. Hope no one else falls for this trap! Regards, Glen

Re: losing Session Values with Response.Redirect(NewPath, False)
Hi Rex Lin, Thanks for your reply. I dont think that is the problem. It may be a misconfigured Application Pool. I will check that tonight. I'm testing it locally so I know its not a farm, or garden issue. I'll do some further investigation and let you know how I go. Thanks Glen

losing Session Values with Response.Redirect(NewPath, False)
Hi All, I noticed you responded to a similar post to the problem I am having. Basically I have built my own URL rewritting app that accepts a url such as http://www.someserver/com/mypage.aspx?editmode=true an based on this it does some checks (In On Application_beginrequest or global.asax) to see if the user should be logged in or not to access the page. If the user does need to be logged in, it will automatically redirect them to the login page and request that they log in. The trouble I'm having

Re: System.Web.UI.ScriptManager not recognized
Hi Chetan, I am adding Ajax controls to a "Standard" ASP.NET application and not a Ajax enabled app, when adding the control which i want to use (ModalPopup) it says that it requires an instance of the ScriptManager Control on the page which makes sense as to my understanding any page that uses Ajax controls needs a ScriptManager control or a ScriptManager Proxy. The reason I mentioned the Ajax Enabled site is that I guess it illustrates the fact that its not a problem with the instalation of Ajax
