• Re: Whats wrong with VS 2008?
Software complexity and large set of user scenarios are biggest contributors to the perceived quality, not really a number of people involved in the product development. BTW, teams have goals to fix bugs filed on Connect, therefore please file bugs so teams can see issues.
I want to follow-up with this. You are taking the position to defend Microsoft and the VS product development and I can respect that position, however, the complaints go

  • Re: Whats wrong with VS 2008?

Here is my experience with 2008. First, don't run it on Vista, because Vista sucks. Not a VS 2008 issue, except that Vista was also created by Microsoft and someone from the VS 2008 team should tell the Vista team they suck and quit screwing developers that are using Visual Studio products. Second, the 3 year release cycle that MS is trying to do is crap. Fix the current products and make them usable, instead of trying to meet a dumb 3 year release cycle that screws every developer and every

  • Re: CSS
you can use the Find ( click Ctrl + F ) inside the VS , select Look in Current Project Or solution , you need to search your project for every Css class and delete the class that its not used in your project.
No offense, but that would suck! I found this on google, but haven't used it yet. http://www.sitepoint.com/dustmeselectors/ Thanks, Bob

  • Masterpage -> Content Page Designer problem

Hey, I thought this was fixed, but in 2008 I'm still having the problem. No need to respond, this is purely for MS. I'm using Telerik controls (or any 3rd party or usercontrol control for that matter) in my MasterPage, and if I open the content page, I'm seeing an error creating the control. If I open the masterpage, then the error goes away on my content page and my controls show up. Thanks, Bob
  • Re: CSS and min-height doesn't not work in designer

I understand there is no solution, I was just following Scott's suggestion to post problems on this forum for MS to handle. So from now on when I find a problem, I'm just going to post.. Thanks, Bob

  • CSS and min-height doesn't not work in designer

Hey, It seems to me that the min-height CSS attribute does not work in the Designer, however, it does show up OK with IE 7.0 and Firefox (with tweaking). The bottom does not expand when needed. Thanks, Bob

  • Re: VS 2008 and Source Safe 2005

Is this the same update you are talking about? http://blogs.msdn.com/richardb/archive/2007/12/11/sourcesafe-2005-update-is-available-for-download.aspx If so that doesn't help with the BIN Folder getting checked in. Thanks

  • VS 2008 and Source Safe 2005

Hello, I am again having a heck of a problem using VSS 2005 with Studio 2008. What is the deal with dang BIN directory under source control?? I've dealt with this under VS 2005 and now I'm having the same problem under VS 2008? Am I not configured properly? Here is what I did... I created a "Web Site", and am using my IIS Site as my web server (not the built in one). I worked on it for like a month. Then put it into Source Safe, and OMG, the freaking BIN directory is being source

  • Dissapointed in VS 2008

Hey, I am disappointed in VS 2008. For a few years, I have been dealing with the bugs with VS 2005, hoping these problems would be fixed in 2008. But to my disappointment, they are NOT fixed and even worse...Microsoft has increased the list of issues with 2008. I personally think the Microsoft Development Team needs to take a step back and re-evaluate their roadmap for new releases. First, let me explain that I thought VS 2003 was the most stable and rock solid .NET development environment. The intellisense

  • Interesting issue in setting the passwordformat in code

Hey, I decided to go with using the default membership provider (i.e. using the default tables), but I decided to make some minor customization to the provider because I have some AD users that need to validate. Another thing that I decided to do is take a lot of control on how the membership provider is setup. For instance, my site should have a minimum password length of 8 characters, so I don't want any developers changing that for their apps since it is a corporate standard on all web apps. Another
