  • Re: Still having GoDaddy installation Problems

Sorry, no ideas on working with Godaddy. Manny D used to have a good help site up but I see that it is gone now so maybe he doesn't work for them any more. I had several sites with them but I had permission problems on a simple ASP site that they were never able to resolve. I moved the site to WebSecureStores and it has worked fine ever since. Bill

  • Re: Still having GoDaddy installation Problems

Hi DZ, Have a look at websecurestores.com. They are priced similarly to GoDaddy but offer much more. They just added a new feature that lets you add different versions of DNN to your site as well as other site setups from a single menu option. You have Enterprise Manager access to your sql database and other useful controls with Helm. They do full backups of your sql database each day and store them where you can get them if you need them. A real value! Bill

  • Re: HELP HELP HELP

Cybersurfer, I noticed that you said dotnet 1.1 and VS 2003. You should be using DotnetNuke 3.2, not 4.02. If you are going to do any module development, you need dotnet 2.0 and either VS 2005 or soem of the free tools to use with 2.0 Bill

Stan, Great sessions! Just two things. Please try to slow Russ down. He can really get going when he is on a roll. Us mere mortals have a hard time keeping up! Maybe take his coffee away? What about the demo you weren't able to get to in the second session? Will we get to see it in the next one? Keep up the good work. Bill

  • Re: Locked out of DNN. Please help.

sstory wrote: I made the mistake of changing the portal login to "Home Page" Now I can't login as admin, host or anyone to change this. I poked around in the tables in the DNN database on SQL server, but so far haven't been able to find a way to undo this blunder. Please advise. Also, this type of goof is far too easy to do and there really should be some way to revert to the default login mechanism. Thanks, Shane Hi Shane, See if this utility from John Mitchell will help: http://blogs.snapsis.com
