  • Re: DNN database object schema?

That's exactly what I was after, many thanks :) I'd have preferred if it had been ultimately a little harder to find, thus lessening my subsequent "doh!" factor.... AW

  • DNN database object schema?

I've had a search about looking for information on the tables defined in SQL Server, in terms of for example what each table is about and how they're used, relationships between each. I know a certain amount can be derived from just looking at the column names, but I'd appreciate any 'official' documentation if possible. Haven't come up with anything so far, can anyone point me in the right direction here please? Basically, I've been playing around with things and have broken it on a few occasions

Have you tried using FileMon or ProcessExplorer to see if they yield any clues?

  • Re: Active Directory Interface for DNN 3

Thanks for that. I'm familiar (very) with that post, but perhaps I'll take another shot at it. Was a little irritated that the install gave no clue where to drop the files either, but I think I managed to work out what went where. When(if?) I get it sorted, I should document it all up and post back. Thanks again. AW

You might want to take a look at this. http://forums.asp.net/951023/ShowPost.aspx For what it's worth, I never got anywhere with it and gave up in frustration. The installation documentation appeared sadly lacking (I know what it's like though, you write something and never finish the dox), but in this case I think the lack could put a lot of people off. It did me anyway. I thought I had it running, but it was very hard to tell. Attempting to register users with Domain\user format wouldn't work,

  • Re: Can I use domain authentication for DNN for intranet use?

Thanks for that. I had registered yesterday and poked around, but aside from his forum I couldn't see any links. However, I re-registered again today and it took me straight to the download links. Maybe there was a slight problem yesterday (or maybe I was at a particular level in the site when I registered and didn't work my way back out to the top), but regardless I'm on my way now. Thanks to all respondents for the tips. AW

  • Re: Can I use domain authentication for DNN for intranet use?

Thanks I tried to check it out, but when I went to Download, DNN, all I got was a painfully slow forum message scrolling by (from which I eventually manged to find my way into a proper forum). No sign of a download link anywhere. Whatever is going on at that site - it's not worth the hassle I think of trying to find it. Sadly. :( Is the bottom line however that this functionality I'm looking for non-existant in core? In which case, I'll think up some alternatives.... Thanks :)

  • Re: Can I use domain authentication for DNN for intranet use?

Thanks for both those posts, yes I've read those threads thoroughly (and a couple similar ones). My problem though was that those threads are about 6 months old - and talk is of it being in beta around then. I had hoped it was all done&dusted by now, and it was just myopia preventing my seeing what I should be doing.

  • Can I use domain authentication for DNN for intranet use?

Hi I've been looking at the documentation and googling like mad since yesterday for this. I am very new to DNN so fully expect this is something that has been covered plenty of times before - apologies in advance then :) What I'd like to do instead of forcing everyone in the domain to register is perhaps set it to automatically pick up their DOMAIN account when they arrive - though making them register wouldn't be a terrible thing, but it should force their username to their domain account name,
