  • Re: Help setup a subscription

We actually user both fully ASP.NET solutions and DNN modules. In my opinion you are going to want to use one or the other. When you get into using IFrames, there are often far too many issues with size, security, and administrative functions. The biggest issue we have with using a separate product inside of DNN is the login issue. If you want it to be shown to only registered users, then you have to ask for a password in DNN, then ask for a password and login for the actual asp.net store... it gets

Just thought I would add my 2 cents to this discussion. I am a .Net (specifically DotNetNuke) developer for a .Net solutions provider company called Dataentity. I have been working with E Commerce solutions in DNN for a year now, and I have used many .Net commerce solutions. In DotNetNuke, I have used both Catalook and Portal Store, and I have worked pretty extensively with both. Catalook has its strong points, but for ease of use, excellent customer support, ease of updating store content, and overall

  • Re: Invalid Operation Exception

Just thought I would post to try and bump this as well. I am having the exact same issue. My site won't allow me to install or upgrade any modules. I get the same error message ... about dbo.GetDesktopModulebyModuleName. If anybody has any ideas how to fix this issue, it would be greatly appreciated. This site is too far into production to have to re build it. I have backups, but the content loss would be devastating. Thanks

  • Re: New DNN 3.1.0 Install -- Missing Modules (including Text/HTML!)

By the way, thank you for the assistance trying to get this figured out. Is there any chance of getting a time frame for 3.1.1 ? Or is that still disclosed information? I've been keeping a close eye on Gemini. Bob;D4T4)

  • Re: New DNN 3.1.0 Install -- Missing Modules (including Text/HTML!)

I am having the exact same problem. I can install a copy on our Application/Development server just fine (all modules, no errors), and on a client's web server. But on our Web Server (which has H-Sphere as well {may be irrelevant}), it appears to have installed everything correctly. The page loads and there is nothing on the home page and every module that runs a SQLdataprovider script does not install. I get the following error in the log viewer for each one of these modules. DefaultDataProvider

  • Re: xmod or kodhedz form generator???

In my opinion, the solution provided by Xmod, Xmod Remote Data (add-on), and the free X URL Processor for Xmod, is by far the best developer toolkit offered for DNN. We have developed several applications and forms against these three tools, and have created an insurance application that would have taken at least a thousand development hours in less than one hundred hours. The support community for Xmod is very large, and Kelly at knowbetter is very customer driven. Xmod is the way to go. Robert

  • Re: DNN 3.1 Fresh Install Not auto installing modules with SqlDataProvider

Just for grins I installed DNN 3.1 fresh on our Application server (located in the office), instead of our Web Server downtown. It installed just fine (with all the modules.) I then installed > WatchDog, changed the default.aspx, and installed Strong Passwords just fine. No problems... Which means the problem lies on our Web Server. The odd thing is, I triple verified that they are both running on the same version of windows, .Net Framework, ADO.net version, IIS version, SQL Server version, same

  • Re: DNN 3.1 Fresh Install Not auto installing modules with SqlDataProvider

I gave both ASPNet user and NetworkService User Full Control permissions to the entire Installation folder. I double checked several of the files before I hit the site to start the build process. ASPNet had the proper permissions set. Is there anything else I can try? Thank you for the suggestion Robert Zordel

  • DNN 3.1 Fresh Install Not auto installing modules with SqlDataProvider

To whichever DNN God would like to be of assistance: I download a fresh copy of DNN 3.1 Full from the net, unzip it, change release.config to web.config, and add my connection string. I save the web.config file, create a new database, add a new dB User, grant them dbowner rights to their dB, and create an IIS listing (with default.aspx as the default document). I hit the website, and everything seems fine... no errors, it says it does everything that it's supposed to. However when I access the portal
