Re: AJAX Control Toolkit ans VWD 2008 Express Problems
Hi Oosty, I sent you a PM, but lets try to see if we can maybe figure out what's going on here. I am going to ask you a a few question, and will try to troubleshoot what's hapenning. 1. Which OS are you running? 2. Are you seeing regular AJAX controls in AJAX extensions tab? 3. Which toolkit exactly did you download? I would recommend trying to use the latest pre-compiled binary from http://www.codeplex.com/AtlasControlToolkit/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=8513 , you want AjaxControlToolkit

Re: Intellisense is not working for "File-->New-->Projects"
Hi manor, Could you please zip up your project and upload it somewhere? I'd be happy to see if I can figure out why you aren't getting intellisense. Thanks, Alex

Re: Visual Studio 2008 Crashing when using ScriptManager + PageMethods/Service Ref
Hi Anders, I should probably mention that we do not support JScript IntelliSense for Page Methods. This would be the reason why this bug slipped in the product. This particular scenario probably wasn't tested as thouroughly as the supported scenarios. Regular web service references should work great in Orcas. But it is not physically possible to test all unsupported scenarios. I also would like to mention that we are working hard on shipping SP1 as soon as possible, within very short timeframe

Re: Visual Studio 2008 Crashing when using ScriptManager + PageMethods/Service Ref
Hi, I confirmed the issue and will investigate it. I will let you know what workaround you can use and we will very likely include the fix for the issue in SP1. Thanks, Alex

Re: no script manager or update panel
Please reboot. You should have those control when you launch VWD Express 2008 after reboot. It's needed to get some framework assemblies updated. Thanks, Alex

Re: Javascript intellisense
Hi, No, using assembly references is supported, as long as the referened assembly is in your project. So if you are trying to use AJAX Toolkit assembly JScript, you should have AJAX Toolkit assembly in your bin. Also, please take a look at http://forums.asp.net/t/1185653.aspx Please let us know if this still doesn't address your issue. Thanks, Alex

Re: Several Projects in the Solution Explorer?
That's correct, you cannot have a class library project in VWDExpress. You can download and use a separate VC# Express using the link above that Vivek provided. You can however work on multiple web sites in a single solution VWDExpress. All you need to do is to use File->Add -> and then choose either "New Web Site" or "Existing Web Site". Thanks, Alex

Re: Visual Web Developer 2008 & .Net 2.0
Hi Mark, There is no drop down for the Target Framework Version in the New Web Site UI of VWDExpress, but there is one if web site properties. So you can Create a new 3.5 web site Right-click on the web site node in the Solution Explore Select Properties from the context menu Go to the Build tab of the Properties Choose Target Framework Version of 2.0. HTH, Alex

Re: AJAX Templates?
Hi jimbo101974 , All VS 2008 web sites are AJAX-enabled by default. There was no need for a separate "AJAX-Enabled" template in VS 2008. The walkthrough you are following is probably for VS 2005. Most of the things in the walkthrough should apply to VS 2008 though. Anyway, if you just create a new "ASP.NET Web Site" in VS 2008, it will be AJAX-Enabled. Hope that helps, Alex
