Re: Paging a gridview with IEnumerable object as datasource
I can't paste the code in it's entirety but here is the definition of the grid and then the load from the code behind code from ASPX: < asp:GridView ID= "gvCashFlows" runat= "server" AutoGenerateColumns= "False" RowStyle-Height= "15px" PageSize= "10" Width= "313px" > < Columns > < asp:BoundField DataField= "HouseholdID" Visible=false /> < asp:BoundField DataField= "TransactionDate" HeaderText

Re: Leaving in Design Mode?
Thanks for the info. I see the need for setting the mode based on Client needs, I guess I just don't see the need for a "browse" mode.

Leaving in Design Mode?
I never understood why MS made a special "design" mode in order for you to move parts around. Is there any harm in just leaving the webparts page in Design mode all the time? And a related question: how do you hide the zone title bars? I don't want to see the "Zone 1", "Zone 2" at the top of the page. Thanks in advance, Robb

Paging a gridview with IEnumerable object as datasource
I have a gridview that is bound to a custom object that implements IEnumerable. For reasons that I won't go into here, I have to get all the rows at once, ie I don't get one page at a time. Since I have to get all the rows up front it would seem inefficient to go and get the data again a page at a time just to implement paging. Is there a way to set the grid to page the data without a custom paging routine? If I simply set the gridview to Paging enabled I get an error saying the datasource

Web Parts and AJAX with .Net 2.0
Posted this in the controls section but perhaps it is better suited here. Moderators feel free to delete the other post if necessary. Trying to get a handle on what the limitations are with using Web Parts with Update Panels/Update Progress, etc. I am using .Net 2.0 and won't be going to 3.5 for a while. I have found several sites (including the sticky at the top of this forum section) that said Web Parts are not compatible with AJAX via Update Panels but then found another site that had a control

Re: Slideshow using full file path
when loading slides such as: s(0) = New AjaxControlToolkit.Slide( "images/camera1.jpg" , "" , "No images found" ) is there a way to use full path for the first parameter instead of relative path.

Is there any way to use a fully qualified path (ie - c:\inetpub\pix) instead of a relative path?

Script Manager not being defined or not available after upgrade to 1.0
Trying to do a simple ajax modal control and it says scriptmanager must be declared before anything that uses it... and obviously it is. Any ideas? Thanks, Robb <%@ Page Language="VB" AutoEventWireup="false" CodeFile="Default2.aspx.vb" Inherits="Default2" %> <%@ Register Assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" Namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" TagPrefix="cc1" %> < !DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional

Re: System.Web.Extensions in AJAX
I had the same problem, I think it was related to maybe having the older version installed. Although I removed it before installing the new one there were still the old microsoft.web dlls out there. In any case if you still haven't got it solved I can zip the two dlls up and email them to you if you'd like. Robb

Re: Dynamically Added controls (buttons) to a GridViewRow on RowDataBound not firing RowDataCommand event
I tried that but the Checkin_Command is never fired. My guess is that somehow the Click is causing a PostBack to occur and the postback is clearing out the dynamic buttons that were created. Therefore the Checkin_Command is never fired because the buttons don't exist after the postback is called. Here is the code to recreate it: aspx <%@ Page Language="VB" AutoEventWireup="false" CodeFile="Default.aspx.vb" Inherits="_Default" %> < !DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional
