Re: What's the deal with the database in DNN 4.x?
I appreciate the help, it's going to take some getting used to this new management utility... I followed the instructions step-by-step, and it showed me the same thing I had before. The basic databases (master, model, msdb, tempdb) all show up, but NOT the DNN database... This is indeed odd. Since the SQL server is running, I then attempt to "attach" to the database, like we used to in SQL 2000. That is when it tells me it cannot because it is in use by another process. So, I'm at a loss of what

Re: What's the deal with the database in DNN 4.x?
Thanks, I must have missed that optional download. I have the full version of SQL Server 2005 on order, but until that comes this program might suffice. However, I loaded up that program, and the DNN database STILL doesn't show up... I went to attach it, and just like with Enterprise Manager, it wouldn't let me do it because it was "currently in use".

Re: What's the deal with the database in DNN 4.x?
Okay, further investigation shows that both MSDE and SQL Server Express 2005 are installed on that computer. I wasn't aware they could co-exist. So, that explains why the DNN database doesn't show up in Enterprise Manager, and won't allow me to attach it. I'll have to see if I can uninstall MSDE...

What's the deal with the database in DNN 4.x?
I was looking over my installation, trying to figure out some glitches, when I realized that the database showing in Enterprise Manager for wasn't even being used. While trouble-shooting this a bit further, I detached the database and DNN is still running! So, can anyone explain this? I'm suspecting it has to do with SQL Server 2005 Express being installed on the web server, and I'm attempting to view it by using Enterprise Manager in SQL Server 2000.

Re: Send Notification error in DNN 4
Good to hear I'm not the only one... It is a bit strange, e-mail from the server does work, I get notifications regularly and the "test" option is successful. I'll keep looking...

Send Notification error in DNN 4
Anyone got any ideas? When I Add or Remove a user to a security role, IF I have the "Send Notification" option checked, I get the following error: Error: User Roles is currently unavailable. DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: The specified string is not in the form required for a subject. ---> System.ArgumentException: The specified string is not in the form required for a subject. at System.Net.Mail.Message.set_Subject(String value) at System.Net.Mail.MailMessage.set_Subject

Re: DNN->IIS->NTFS Permissions?
I was just looking at the documentation a bit closer this morning and noticed that while the written portion of the permissions needed match your description, the example picture shows "full" access. Is an update of the documentation in order?

Re: DNN->IIS->NTFS Permissions?
Thanks... I've seen a lot of different answers, but I'll take the most recent actual documentation as the "correct" answer.

DNN->IIS->NTFS Permissions?
What are the proper directory/file permissions to set for DNN 4.0.2? I've been finding all sorts of different recommendations. I have lots of questions: - What user accounts need right to the DotNetNuke folder? - Do they need Full permissions or Modify permissions? - Does it need to be different if Windows Authentication is enabled? - What account should IIS run under? - What account should the worker process run under?

Re: Numerous errors in DNN 4!
Well, I was able to resolve the Search Issue with hints from the other thread about a hauntingly similar problem (which I had copied that URL). Suffice it to say that it was a problem with the DLL files in the DotNetNuke\Bin directory. I removed some old ones that didn't get removed during the upgrade and it started working again. I'm working my way through some of the other DLLs, in an attempt to see if I can resolve some of the other issues this way also. I haven't gotten a chance to install a
