• Downloading files

  Whats the simplest code to download a file (from a URL) to a folder on the harddrive. I actually want to download a bunch of files at once so would be interested in multithreaded downloading if it's not too much of a pain.

• Figuring out number of pages in a PDF

  I am trying to figure out how to tell how many pages are in a pdf programatically. There are a bunch of programs that can do it (though cost money) so I know it can be done, just don't know how.

• Forum security

  If I change security for the "Determines who can add pages to this section. " section in a discussion module, it allows anyone to add a post anonymously, which is what I want . However, it doesn't allow an anonymous person to reply to another post , anyone know how to do this?

• Downloads Module

  having a problem getting some files (pdf's to work), 1 does 2 don't, they are not too big or anything, anyone have this? also I want to change the display from bytes to kilobytes. Confused to what the {0:n0} is doing in DownLoadFileSize.cs string _numberFormatString = "{0:n0} bytes"; the number of times downloaded is going up every time clicked, so goes up one if you click and click cancel. any one know how to make it increment only if they fully download the file (or at least start)?

  noticing all the Webform objects variables reset when interacting, so is a new object is being created every time a person hooks up to the webapp?

  Does Microsoft actually own the sites that you make with the GCN? I thought it might have reserved them that right in the terms but I'm not a lawyer.
