Re: ASP.NET - JAVA Bridge
I have Grasshopper and a .Net website developed in Visual Studio 5. I'm having a difficult time trying to learn to use Grasshopper to convert my .Net application to a Java application. I have been unable to find what I would call a User Manual for Grasshopper. Does such a thing exist. Connection to MySql database is also not working. Vern

Re: Send email from Windows Form using System.Net.Mail with C# coding
Upon further research, I now realize that the NetworkCredential class in .Net 2.0 does not support SSL authentication, which is what the Yahoo mail server is using. Now what?

Send email from Windows Form using System.Net.Mail with C# coding
On my development computer I do not have a mail server. My smtp host is smtp.att.yahoo.com. The following code does not work. System.Net.Mail. MailMessage message = new System.Net.Mail. MailMessage (from, tos, subject, body); SmtpClient client = new SmtpClient ( "smtp.att.yahoo.com" , 465); System.Net. CredentialCache myCache = new System.Net. CredentialCache (); myCache.Add( new Uri ( "http://mail.yahoo.com/" ), "Digest" , new System.Net. NetworkCredential (UserID

Re-programming to switch to MySQL
I currently have two e-commerce web sites developed in ASP.Net using SQL Server 2000 as the database. Because so many hosting companies charge a premium for SQL Server, I'm looking into using MySQL. How much re-programming would be required? Can the System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection object be used to connect to a MySQL database? Vern

Re: Connection string for MS SQLServer 2000
Thank you all for your help and thoughtful input. I believe the solution is to host my site elsewhere--i.e. not at GoDaddy.

Re: Connection string for MS SQLServer 2000
Terri, GoDaddy management console only permits access to tables, veiws, and stored procedures; no way to get to users/permissions. Using Enterprise Manager doesn't give me access as best I can figure. I added a SQL Server Group which I named GoDaddy. Then tried to add a server registration, using the server address that GoDaddy provides (whsql-v**.****.mesa*.secure***.net). I elected SQL Server authentication and entered the user name and password I have that gives me access to the GoDaddy management

Re: Connection string for MS SQLServer 2000
Part of my difficulty is that I have no management tool remotely similar to Enterprise Manager at GoDaddy, so I'm unsure of how they have users and privelges setup. I understand completely what you're recommending, however. Code sample: Dim conn As New SqlConnection(ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings("Conn")) conn.Open()
