  • Re: Change first URL

Also, if you want to make the url http://intranet/program instead of http://intranet/program.aspx without redirection, you could do that by making a handler mapping for * to point to ASP.net. However, I wouldn't recommend doing that depending on what else you're using the web server for because that could take up a ton of overhead and break other pages.

  • Re: Version 4.0 Availiability

corymckee1: I thought this was supposed to be available on August 4th. What happened? The date slipped a bit due to the fact that this is the first time that the solution is being published via Technet, so there were a few glitches getting everything in the system. The link to the solution is live at http://www.microsoft.com/serviceproviders/solutions/windowsbasedhosting.mspx .
  • Re: Can it coexist with HMC 3.5?

You can certainly use the components together. The idea behind the Solution for Windows Based Hosting is that you can pick and choose which components you wish to utilize in your environment. Just take the relevant sections of documentation/best practices that you wish to use in your HMC environment from the WBH documentation.
  • Re: WEB HOSTING

This is an interesting question. This isn't a typical shared hosting scenario since most shared hosting offerings don't allow for multiple domains let alone, multiple application pools. I'm not sure what your budget is, but there is one host which might offer what you're looking for. I've posed your question to them in a chat window and they said they could do it. http://www.mosso.com/

  • Re: can two organizational unit have same SMTP Domain?

If I understand your question correctly, you're asking if two separate OU's in an LDAP can be associated with the same domain name. The answer is yes, since the domain name is higher up in the OU structure. This is one of the main concepts in LDAP to have hierarchical data structures.
  • Re: Hosted Exchange license requirements

It is very important for people to have the resources they need to get answers regarding our licensing, specifically for the SPLA (Service Provider Licensing Agreement). While most of us in the hosting side of Microsoft can talk about the SPLA in general terms, there are some limitiations. The primary reason for this is that since it is a licensing and legal matter, we're advised not to get entangled in specifics that could construe a verbal contract, etc. The good news is that there is a resource

kinch: I am a web developer with ASP.Net (C# and SQL Server background) experience, along with some limited html experience.
